Sony makes Green Man Gaming an official PlayStation 4 code reseller

Green Man Gaming guide: How to redeem PS4 / PSN codes

Green Man Gaming (GMG) has announced a landmark deal with Sony that will see the previously PC-only game key site begin selling codes for PlayStation 4 games, too. Console gamers will be able to buy them straight from the GMG site, copy the code, input it into their PS4, and begin downloading their brand new game.

This move is no small one, with GMG now becoming a Sony U.S. authorized online dealer. That gives it not only the ability to sell PS4 game codes on its site, but a sincere thumbs-up from Sony, too, that this site is a legitimate one.

This is quite important in online game sales, which have become inundated with dodgy key sellers and trading sites that don’t help developers and in some cases have even cost them money. Green Man Gaming, however, is anything but that and this deal with Sony goes a long way to endorsing that idea.

“The Sony U.S. partnership brings us a step closer to achieving our vision of becoming the No. 1 digital games retailer in the world. By offering our customers a wide range of digital games that they can play on their favorite platforms, we’re giving the gaming community the ultimate multiplatform destination to shop, connect, and get the best insights online,” said Paul Sulyok, founder and CEO of Green Man Gaming.

To celebrate this news, GMG is now offering all PS4 titles at a special introductory offer of 5 percent off. What kind of games does it offer? Everything from The Last of Us to God of War III Remastered, inculding BloodBorne, Uncharted 4, and Mafia III.

That’s just a handful of the available PS4 titles, though, all available at a slightly reduced rate while this promotion lasts. These games can only be purchased and redeemed in the United States for now, but visiting international versions of the GMG PlayStation page says it’s coming soon, so we wouldn’t be surprised to see PS4 codes available on international GMG sites in the near future.

With a mercilessly busy 2023 winding down, you’d think that I’d be ready for a break from video games. And trust me, I am, but I still can’t help but look forward to what’s on the horizon in 2024. I already know that games like Final Fantasy VII: Rebirth and Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth are bound to consume me, but there’s one indie game that I especially have my eye on: Ultros. The ultrastylish Metroidvania left a strong impression on me at this May’s PlayStation Showcase. That was largely thanks to its eye-popping visual style that’s unlike anything I’ve seen in a video game before.

While Ultros has the look, I was less certain about how it would actually play. I’d finally get a sense of that during a sweeping 90-minute demo. The segment I played would give me a feel for its deceptively deep combat, oddball farming component, and surprising roguelike structure. It was a complicated gameplay snippet that I couldn’t fully get my head around by the end, but that just leaves me even more curious about the final product.
The cycle goes on
At first glance, Ultros appears to be a straightforward game. It seems like your typical 2D Metroidvania where players dash through a maze-like map collecting power-ups. Within minutes, I figured I understood the entire gameplay loop. That was fine by me, because it gave me more time to soak in its wild art style, which really makes it unique. Every room is a psychedelic wash of colors that looks like a Grateful Dead poster. All the painterly details can make it a little hard to navigate, but I loved making my way through all of its gooey alien locales, which are rich with vibrant flora.

Sony’s latest partnership is a big move for PlayStation’s mobile future

Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) revealed its next big gaming partnership, and it's with a somewhat unexpected company. The game developer and publisher in question is NCSoft, a Korean company best known for its work on MMO series, namely Guild Wars and Lineage.

According to a press release, the two companies have entered into a partnership that enables them to "collaborate in various global business fields, including mobile." We asked Sony if the phrasing of "various global business fields" also applied to console games, but a representative for the company said it doesn't have anything else to share on that front currently.
