If you purchase Hitman GO, either on Steam or on PSN with a PlayStation Plus account, you’ll also get a 20% discount on the game. The PlayStation 4 and Vita versions are also supposed to be cross-buy compatible, but Square Enix reports problems with the program in Europe. To compensate, a cross-buy bundle will be made available in Europe as a free download to anyone who purchased one of the other versions of the game.
As an extra bonus, Square Enix Montreal also released a video showcasing the creation of a real-life Hitman GO level, created as a wooden diorama with all the details of the video game. Individual stairs are carefully sanded down to be perfectly uniform, and grass and shrubbery are placed on the map, with knife-sculpted leaves for palm trees. Perhaps the best feature is the “water” in the diorama, which allows for the characters to stay suspended permanently in a swimming motion as Agent 47 walks ominously behind them.
“The model created in that video will now sit in the Square Enix Montreal lobby as a reminder of where we came from,” says Sqaure Enix’s Nicolas Verge.
Of course, this isn’t the only Hitman game coming to PlayStation and Steam this year. The rebooted Hitman, which recently launched a beta that showcased a few … interesting ways to kill your targets, will see its first episode release for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC on March 11. We’ll have to wait and see if Agent 47 finally covers up that barcode on the back of his head this time.
