Zack Snyder’s Man of Steel sequel just added some more Oscar-caliber talent to its cast in the form of Holly Hunter, Warner Bros. confirms. Also joining the cast are Callan Mulvey and Tao Okamoto. All three will play characters “newly created for the film.”

Hunter won a Best Actress Academy Award for her performance in the 1993 film The Piano, though she’s also a three-time Oscar nominee for her contributions to Broadcast NewsThe Firm, and Thirteen, and a two-time Emmy winner. Mulvey has some background with Snyder, having worked with him on the recently released 300: Rise of an Empire. He’s also got a role in the soon-to-be-released Captain America: The Winter Soldier, in which he plays SHIELD agent Jack Rollins. Okamoto is also a veteran of the recent comic book movie surge, having made her Hollywood debut as Mariko in The Wolverine.

“Holly has always been one of my favorite actresses; she has immense talent and is always captivating on screen. I had an opportunity to meet her a while back and knew instantly that I had to work with her, so as we began writing the script I made sure to create a role specifically for her,” Snyder said in a prepared statement.

The newly confirmed trio joins an already-strong cast of Hollywood veterans that includes Ben Affleck as Bruce Wayne/Batman, Gal Gadot as Diana Prince/Wonder Woman, Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor, and Jeremy Irons as Alfred Pennyworth. Returning from the original Man of Steel are stars Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Laurence Fishburne, Diane Lane. Chris Terrio is working on a script based on a screenplay by David S. Goyer.

The Man of Steel sequel – whatever its title ends up being – is due to arrive on May 6, 2016.

Basim perched on a ledge overlooking Baghdad

In a company interview with CEO Yves Guillemot posted on the Ubisoft website Thursday, the executive reveals that there are remakes of Assassin's Creed games in the works, although he doesn't specify which ones.

"Players can be excited about some remakes, which will allow us to revisit some of the games we've created in the past and modernize them," he says, implying that it could pertain to games made before Odyssey. "There are worlds in some of our older Assassin's Creed games that are still extremely rich."

Surfaced patent shows what an Xbox streaming console would’ve looked like
An Xbox Series X sits next to both Series S models.

There have been a few Xbox devices that have never come to fruition, one of which was Keystone, a prototype for an affordable game streaming device you could hook up to your TV or monitor. Thanks to a surfaced patent, we've gotten an even closer look at what it would've potentially looked like.

The patent, first spotted by Windows Central, gives us a more complete view of the device. We've previously seen the Keystone in the flesh. Microsoft Gaming head Phil Spencer is known for hiding teases and interesting collectibles on the shelf in his office. In a 2022 X (formerly Twitter) post congratulating Bethesda on Fallout's 25th anniversary, you can see a small white device on the top shelf that's actually a Keystone prototype. Xbox told Digital Trends that it was a version of the device made before it decided to "refocus our efforts on a new approach.”
