Zombie killing enthusiasts are in for a treat with the upcoming Call of Duty: Black Ops Escalation’s undead campaign. Santa Monica’s Activision and Treyarch have revealed that the DLC will be starring four well known horror actors.

Robert England (Yes, Freddy Kreuger from Nightmare on Elm Street) Sarah Michelle Geller (Buffy) Michael Rooker (the annoying “white power” guy from The Walking Dead, Mallrats) and Danny Trejo (Machete, Spy Kids) will be voice acting and lending their likenesses as the four playable survivors in the campaign. Treyarch says this zombie experience will be one like never before.

“This is Treyarch’s tribute to the legendary George Romero, who truly defined the zombie genre and whose incredible work has been such an inspiration to our team.” Black Ops director Dave Anthony said, “It was an absolute honor to work with such an amazing and talented cast whose passion and energy brought their characters instantly to life. Fans are going to love it.”

Not only will the Call of the Dead be inspired by the legendary “Godfather of all zombies”, George A. Romero will be also be starring in the Escalation DLC in what looks to be a zombie role from the official trailer. The zombie massacre will be set in a snow-clad Siberia with a shipload of forsaken crew members mobbing your favorite horror stars.

The next Call of Duty: Black Ops map pack will be featuring four new competitive maps along with the zombie map. It’s set to come out on May 3 to Xbox live, most likely for the usual $15.  PC and PS3 users will probably get their hands on it about a month afterward, assuming it follows the trend of past releases.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 was the game that set the current state of Call of Duty in motion. Blackout mode was the franchise's first take on battle royale and followed the cut-and-dried model laid out by Fortnite. Fast-forward to 2020 and everybody knows how popular Call of Duty: Warzone has become. While Black Ops 4 only dipped its toes in battle royale, it gave us some incredible zombie experiences, the likes of which we had never seen. Black Ops: Cold War picked up the mantle, but there's something about fending off zombie hordes in ancient Aztec ruins that hits differently. Here are some helpful tips and tricks if you find yourself diving back into Zombie mode in Call of Duty: Black Ops 4.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 Review

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 is the first game in the series to feature a battle royale mode, inspiring the spin-off title Warzone to improve upon that foundation. Blackout mode drops you and 87-99 other players onto an enormous map to fight to the death. There are a ton of different weapons at your disposal, but it can be difficult to determine what you should use when you’re new to the mode and its stealth-oriented approach to combat. Cold War didn't bring back this mode, leaving Blackout as the only Black Ops specific version of a Call of Duty battle royale.
