How to watch the J Balvin concert in Fortnite

Epic Games and Fortnite are the pioneers of in-game events, concerts included. Earlier this year, Travis Scott’s in-game concert attracted more than 27 million players, making it one of the most historic and successful in-game events ever, following DJ Marshmallow’s 2019 stint. This week, Fortnite is hosting another concert to coincide with the Halloween event known as Fortnitemares, this time featuring Grammy Award-winning Reggaeton singer J Balvin.

In this guide, we’ll provide you with everything you need to know about the upcoming event, from the start time and location, to when and where you’ll be able to catch rebroadcasts. Here’s how to watch the J Balvin concert in Fortnite.

To catch the J Balvin Fortnite concert, you’ll need to head to the Main Stage in Party Royale on Saturday, October 31, at 9 p.m. ET. If you can’t make it then, you’ll have other chances to watch a rebroadcast on Sunday, November 1, at 1 p.m. ET and again at 6 p.m. ET. The Main Stage is located on the east side of the map within Party Royale mode, where you can participate with friends or strangers. Epic Games also features a new, limited-time island you can visit within Creative Mode called La Familia, which was created by members of the community. Here, you can play minigames based on songs from J Balvin’s most recent record, Colores.

To party in style, you can also purchase the limited-time Party Trooper Outfit from the in-game store until November 1 at 8 p.m. ET. This fancy new outfit is available for 1,200 V-bucks and is a great way to show your support during the concert.

As for the concert itself, the artist will debut his new song, La Luz, which is a collaboration with Panamanian artist Sech. His Fortnite performance will likely feature some of the tracks from Colores, a record that is composed of song titles that correspond to colors in Spanish. The album debuted in March and received positive reviews, with the track Blanco achieving Gold status in Spain.

In reference to his upcoming appearance in Fortnite, J Balvain said on Instagram that he is grateful to be the first Spanish-language artist to headline this year’s Fortnitemares event at the Afterlife Party alongside Sech.

There are other incentives to capitalize on during Fortnitemares, too, including new challenges and a slew of premium cosmetics, namely a Ghostbusters pack that features numerous skins, emotes, a glider, and more.

Fortnite Reality Augments: full list and how to use them
Fortnite Zero Builds key art.

Every new chapter of Fortnite is a massive event. While seasonal changes bring plenty of minor tweaks and additions, it's almost always when a new chapter rolls around that major overhauls or new mechanics are introduced. Fortnite Chapter 4 was no exception, and aside from the extreme changes the island underwent, it brought one very important change to gameplay that makes a huge difference when going for that elusive victory royal (it isn't easy to win Fortnite, after all).

Augments, well, augment the game. There are a few challenges that somewhat introduce what these are, but they leave out almost all the important details for you to find out on your own. Augments need to be considered, and deeply understood, not only for when you get them yourself but to know what new tricks your opponents could have up their sleeves. Before you get taken by surprise, here's a complete breakdown of how to unlock augments and how they work in Fortnite.
What are augments in Fortnite?
Augments, or Reality Augments, are a new perk system introduced into Fortnite. There are currently 20 augments in the game, but there are 32 total that cycle in and out with each Season. You can get access to multiple augments during a single match, but augments do not carry over after a match is finished, whether you win or lose. These perks can range from modifying certain weapon types to granting buffs for performing actions, and much more. There are no bad augments, so you will want to get as many as possible. Augments also have their own tab in your menu where you can see which ones you've had so far to track your progress using them all.
