The next and last announced downloadable content for Hyrule Warriors lets you wreak havoc on the battlefield as Link’s classic nemesis, the monstrous and tusky Ganon.
Available on March 12, the Boss Pack adds two new game modes: Boss Challenge is a classic boss rush mode, letting you square off against a string of enormous boss battles to unlock new costumes for Link, Zelda, and Lana. Ganon’s Fury, meanwhile, lets you spread chaos and destruction as a giant boss of your own, the svelte Gerudan Ganondorf’s monstrous boar form, Ganon. Cause enough mayhem and you can unlock new costumes for the villainous Cia and Ganondorf.
Ganon (or Gannon) was the Zelda series’ original antagonist. Ocarina of Time humanized him into Ganondorf, who took over duties as big bad for most of the games since. Ganon remains as the monstrous Hyde to Ganondorf’s Jekyll, often making appearances as a final boss form.
The Hyrule Warriors Boss Pack will be available for $3 on March 12, 2015 from the Nintendo eShop. Alternatively, if you don’t own the other DLC yet, you can purchase all four in the Hero of Hyrule Pack for $20, saving $7 over purchasing them individually.
Hyrule Warriors fuses the over-the-top large scale battles of Tecmo Koei’s Dynasty Warriors series with the rich lore and characters of Nintendo’s Legend of Zelda franchise.
