IGN, an Internet portal focused on video game and entertainment markets, today announced that metrics they have been collecting this holiday season have thus far determined that EA’s Madden NFL 2006 is the hottest game across all platforms.
Varying off from the top game across all platforms, IGN said, Call of Duty for Microsoft’s new platform, Xbox 360, while the earlier Xbox players’ favorite was Ninja Gaiden Black. PS2 gamers named Shadow of the Colossus as their favorite, spooky Resident Evil 4 came in first for Nintendo’s GameCube and PC gamers were taken most by Civilization IV.
On handheld gaming machines, Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories was the bling for PSP users, Mario Kart DS was racing to the top on the Nintendo DS and Pokemon Emerald was highest on lists of Game Boy Advance owners.
