You just can’t unveil a gaming system without teasing some new games, so along with its announcement of the PS4, Sony took a moment to show off a few titles coming to the console.

While most of the games showcased at the event were made by other developers, Sony did reserve some time to showcase its own game, Knack, which looks like an odd hybrid between a video game and a family-friendly Pixar movie. Details are still scarce at this point, but you play as a small robot capable of assimilating objects into his body to grow bigger. Your mission: To save the world from an alien invasion, of course! Sure, it looks pretty tame in comparison to some of the other games unveiled at the meeting, but even without hyper-realistic graphics and beautifully-rendered landscapes, Knack is a fantastic example of the physics capabilities of the PS4.

No details on a release date just yet, but in the meantime you can check out Knack’s full trailer.

Vocaloid idol Hatsune Miku's next video game crossover was announced and released today, and it's the perfect kind of collaboration for the character. If you buy a new $2 DLC, you can now play as Crypton Future's popular virtual singer in the PC and PS4 versions of Crypt of the NecroDancer.

Crypt of the NecroDancer is a roguelike dungeon crawler that moves to the beat of the music. You can see why Hatsune Miku would be such a good fit for a game like this. The digital idol has a long history in the gaming space, both through her own series of rhythm games and guest appearances in titles like Persona 4: Dancing All Night, Just Dance, Ninjala, and Fall Guys. Likewise, Brace Yourself Games and Crypt of the NecroDancer are no strangers to crossovers; Cadence of Hyrule: Crypt of the NecroDancer Featuring The Legend of Zelda was a full-fledged spin-off using music from Nintendo's series that came out in 2019.

The PlayStation 4 is still a hugely popular console, though if you have one you might be wondering whether it's worth upgrading to the PS5. Even a cursory glance at the specs of the PS5 shows that it’s in a different league than the PS4 (and even the PS4 Pro). Sony has improved the capabilities of its platform in every way, adding more efficient storage, faster compute parts, support for larger capacity disks, and support for higher resolutions. We know there are two versions of the PS5 -- the Standard Edition and Digital Edition -- both of which will offer the same specs (with the exception of the omission of a disc drive with the Digital Edition).
