We’ve reached the portion of the year that usually sees a Madden-related announcement from EA Sports, and sure enough, the publisher has confirmed that Madden NFL 15 arrives in stores on August 26 in North America and on August 29 in the EU. The latest entry in the 26-year-old series will be coming to PlayStation and Xbox consoles.
There’s not much to say about the actual game that EA Tiburon put together for this year’s release. EA’s announcement mentions “an entirely new broadcast presentation” that includes additional camera angles and “dynamic” pre-game and halftime shows. It looks like we’ll have to wait for June — the month of E3 — to hear about the gameplay, as a newly released teaser featuring Carolina Panthers linebacker and Defensive Player of the Year Luke Kuechly notes.
Before that, however, players will have a chance to steer the latest franchise entry’s cover athlete. EA Sports is once again partnered with ESPN on the annual Madden cover vote, with a special announcement coming on May 8 — the day the annual NFL Draft kicks off — at 8pm ET, via ESPN and the NFL Network.
Last year, EA Sports celebrated the franchise’s silver anniversary with Madden NFL 25. A relatively strong entry in the franchise, Madden 25 was the first to use EA’s new Ignite engine on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One releases. The next-gen entries proved to be smarter, and we’re excited to see how the EA Tiburon studio builds on its 2013 successes.
