Microsoft to unveil the Next Xbox on May 21

The-next-Xbox-mainMicrosoft has begun the slow burn to the official reveal of the Next Xbox, Durango, Xbox 720, or whatever the next generation of Xbox is called.

The official notice came earlier today, heralding the event:

During this time, we’ll share our vision for Xbox and give you a real taste of the future. Then, 19 days later at E3, we’ll continue the conversation and showcase our full lineup of blockbuster gaming experiences.

The teams here at Xbox have been very busy and are thrilled to pull back the curtain and reveal what we’ve been working on.

The event will take place on the Microsoft Campus in Redmond, Washington, beginning at 10am PST, and will be live streamed online, on Xbox Live, and air on Spike TV. Check back with us for a LOT more coverage.

3 underrated Xbox Game Pass titles to play this weekend (May 31-June 2)
A knight with a large sword prepares to stab a dragon in Lords of the Fallen.

We're right on the precipice of June, which will be chock-full of new game announcements from every publisher. In fact, that wave already started with Sony's May 30 State of Play. Still, just because this time of year is mainly focused on video game announcements doesn't mean you shouldn't be playing anything new. If you're an Xbox Game Pass subscriber in particular, there are three titles you can have a great time with this weekend.

For those excited about Until Dawn's PC and PS5 remake, I recommend you check out developer Supermassive Games' previous narrative title, which is actually available through Game Pass. The other two games are new to the service. One is a Soulslike that was nearly a decade in the making, but paid off that wait by being an impressive title that stands toe-to-toe with FromSoftware's work. The other is one of 2023's best games, a puzzler that will make you think more deeply about how people interact with each other.

Why you should buy the Microsoft Xbox Series X
Considered to be one of the best gaming consoles for Microsoft fans, the Microsoft Xbox Series X may have divisive looks but it’s supremely powerful with a wealth of games. The console provides 12 teraflops of power with support for DirectX ray tracing, 4K gaming, and even has a custom 1TB SSD for storage so it doesn’t skip a beat anywhere. It has lightning-fast load times with gameplay of up to 120 FPS ensuring everything looks fantastic. Arguably its best feature though is Quick Resume. That means you can easily leave where you left things even after turning the console off. It’s hugely useful and it’s quick too so your console is always ready for you to return.
