Blood will spill on April 14, 2015 when NetherRealm Studios’ Mortal Kombat X comes to PC and PlayStation/Xbox consoles, publisher Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment confirms. The game was announced shortly before E3 2014 and made its debut at the annual trade show to rave responses.
As is typical for these big releases nowadays, those that pre-order Mortal Kombat X have a little bonus to look forward to: Goro. After an absence of more than eight years, the final boss of the original game in the series returns in Mortal Kombat X as a pre-order-exclusive downloadable fighter. There’s no mention one way or another in the press release, but you can probably expect Goro to eventually be sold as downloadable content at a later date.

The coming game features some new quirks, including multiple fight styles for each combatant, selected before a match begins, and an online play-focused experience that pushes everyone toward taking on other human players. There’s also a whole new story featuring longtime favorites like Scorpion and Sub-Zero alongside a lineup of newcomers.
