The latest CG trailer for Assassin’s Creed Unity introduced one of the game’s major female character, a young noblewoman named Elise. Ubisoft reveals that she’s a Templar, or has designs on becoming one and rising through their ranks, and she uses the madness of the game’s French Revolution setting to her advantage.
The new trailer introduces Elise as a damsel-in-distress, about to have her head lopped off by a guillotine. Arno rushes in to save her, dispatching soldiers in the violently stylish fashion we’ve come to associate with the series’ Assassins. It’s one of the publisher’s trademark sharp, pop music-backed trailers.
In addition to her Unity appearance, Elise will also appear in a new Assassin’s Creed novel, with the same title as the game, that runs through the story from her perspective. The book will be written by Oliver Bowden, the author of multiple previous books in the Assassin’s Creed series.
Assassin’s Creed Unity (the game) is set to be released worldwide on October 28, for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
