Nintendo to Focus on Handhelds at E3

“Although Nintendo has pledged to show off something of its plans for the highly-anticipated next-generation platform at the expo, it has remained coy about exactly how much will be on display – and now sources close to the company have revealed that no Revolution hardware or specs will be discussed, with the console appearing only as a video of next-gen footage.

Instead, the focus of Nintendo’s conference will be on the handheld market – with the rumoured new version of the Game Boy Advance hardware set to make an appearance for the first time, along with the first demonstration of the Nintendo DS’ Wi-Fi powered online functionality.”

We have heard rumors that Nintendo’s next gaming console might not even be introduced this year, but would be available sometime in 2006.

The Division 3: release date speculation, news, and rumors

For many fans of looter-shooters, it's hard to find a series quite as compelling as The Division. With two successful games in the franchise already under its belt, Ubisoft is clearly aware that it's a meaningful part of its ever-expanding catalog, so it's unsurprising that it's hard at work on a third entry. With the advent of newer hardware and a heap of lessons learned from the first two games, The Division 3 is all but certain to land with a bang and further cement the franchise as one of Ubisoft's most beloved.

We know The Division 3 is in development at Massive Entertainment with Julian Gerighty as the executive producer. Beyond that, though, not much has been shared about what to expect from the game yet. Even so, here's everything we know about The Division 3.
Release date
The Division 3 does not currently have a release date. And since the game hasn't even received any trailer yet, it's safe to assume we probably won't see it until at least 2025 — though stranger things have happened.

3 Days of Play PS Plus games to try this weekend (June 7-9)

June 2024 is shaping up to be a pretty great month for PlayStation players. Not only are we coming off an entertaining State of Play showcase, but a new Days of Play initiative surrounding all the video game showcases this month is bringing a lot of new PS Plus additions with it. Many of those games hit PS Plus this week, and three in particular stand out to us.

For owners of Sony's oft-neglected PlayStation VR2, the first game is one of its rare exclusives that take full advantage of the headset's eye-tracking by seeing how often players blink. The next is a new PS Plus Essential game that's a revival of Sega's classic beat-'em-up series for the modern gaming era. Finally, the last title is an atmospheric and eerie fishing game that should entice fans of Lovecraftian horror.

I thought Cat Quest 3 wouldn’t be for me. I was very wrong

Video games that try to thread the needle between younger and older audiences have a tricky job. Games like Detective Pikachu Returns can find themselves walking a difficult tightrope act as they waffle between which age group they want to cater to. That can result in an imbalance between simplistic writing and complex gameplay or vice versa. While the idea of courting a wide age range is appealing, it's not an easy task.

That's why I'm impressed by Cat Quest 3 so far. On its surface the pirate RPG certainly looks and sounds like a straight-up kid's game. It has an adorable art style and a script full of easy feline puns. And yet, I found myself deeply engaged as I played through a lengthy demo. Deep RPG systems had me so locked in that I was surprised when I hit the end of my time.
