Portal 2 Set for February Release

It was disappointing when we first heard that Portal 2 would be pushed back, clear out of 2010 until sometime next year, but according to a tweet from Geoff Keighly, we won’t have too long to wait.

For those that missed the original, you have time to rectify your mistake, and go pick it up now. For the rest of us, we will have to wait until February 9.

The game takes place several hundred years after the original, but judging from what we saw at E3, the core mechanics of the original remain intact. The game is set once again in the Aperture Science Enrichment Center, only time has not been kind, and decay and overgrowth have set in. Once again GLaDOS returns, and she blames you for murdering her at the end of the first game.

Check out the trailer below. We will keep a close eye on this game.

An animated Miles Morales swinging around in Marvel's Spider-Man 2 video game

Marvel's Spider-Man 2 is getting even more suits, including some designer outfits for both Peter Parker and Miles Morales that will hit the game for free on June 18.

In a PlayStation blog, developer Insomniac Games detailed the eight new suits, four of which were made in partnership with fashion mogul and designer Colm "KidSuper" Dillane and other celebrities. One Miles suit, called the "Metro Suit," is a solo KidSuper effort that also comes with three additional variant colors and a top reminiscent of a puffer jacket.

Move over Helldivers 2. A Starship Troopers game is coming to consoles
Key art for Starship Troopers: Extermination.

Helldivers 2 is one of 2024's breakout gaming hits, but it's finally getting some competition from the franchise it is heavily inspired by. Offworld's Starship Troopers: Extermination, a co-op shooter based on the satirical sci-fi franchise, will exit early access on PC and launch for both PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S this October.

Starship Troopers: Extermination originally entered early access on Steam in May 2023 and is a co-op first-person shooter that supports up to 16 players. Helldivers 2 definitely stole a bit of its thunder, but this officially licensed Starship Troopers game does stand out because of its first-person gameplay perspective, character classes, and light base-building elements. While hardcore Helldivers 2 fans on PS5 and PC might not want to switch games, this finally gives Xbox players a game that's somewhat similar to Sony's multiplayer hit to check out.

The Talos Principle 2: Road to Elysium DLC is three expansions in one
A structure sits in the sea in The Talos Principle 2.

The Talos Principle 2 is getting its first expansion  for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC on June 14 in the form of Road to Elysium. The $20 DLC is described as a three-part coda, which will give players three new areas to discover across distinct chapters.

Released in November 2023, The Talos Principle 2 is a sequel to a genre-defining 2014 puzzle game that took heavy inspiration from Portal. The sequel built on its predecessor with more complex puzzle chambers, new tools, and a richer story about a colony of androids dealing with philosophical questions about their existence. Road to Elysium will continue all of that by adding more puzzles and story.
