PlayStation Plus’ December lineup includes Worms Rumble and Just Cause 4

PlayStation Plus subscribers can add three games to their library starting December 1. The new batch of freebies includes Worms Rumble, Just Cause 4, and Rocket Arena.

Worms Rumble is the latest game in the cult-hit Worms franchise. The title is a 32-player online battle royale game that features cross-platform support. The title will be available for both PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 subscribers.

The game is a notable addition, as it’ll be making its debut as part of PlayStation Plus. A similar strategy increased Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout‘s popularity at launch, making it the most downloaded game in PS Plus history. Sony plans on taking the same approach with Destruction AllStars early next year, which was originally slated as a PlayStation 5 launch title but was delayed and shifted to a free title.

Avalanche Studio’s 2018 sandbox shooter Just Cause 4 will be available for all subscribers. In our review, we said, “if you’re looking for an open-world playground to mess around in, Just Cause 4 provides a nice space for that.”

Rocket Arena is a colorful, competitive shooter that was released in July. The game originally cost players $30, but the price drastically dropped to $5 shortly after its release.

Non-PS Plus subscribers who own Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, FIFA 21, and Grand Theft Auto V are getting a free multiplayer weekend in December, allowing them to try those games online without a PS Plus subscription. The event takes place from December 19 to December 20.

Before December rolls around, PS Plus subscribers still have a chance to pick up November’s free games, which include PlayStation 5 launch title Bugsnax and Hollow Knight.

PlayStation Plus’ most notable free April offerings come from Microsoft

Sony outlined all the new offerings PlayStation Plus Essential subscribers can expect in April; surprisingly, Microsoft is the company behind two of this month's four offerings, Minecraft Legends, and the Overwatch 2 Mega Bundle.

Although the thing it's most notable for is flopping upon its release, Immortals of Aveum is still a solid shooter that you might have missed out on, and you should give it a shot now that you can get it through PS Plus. Meanwhile, Skul: The Hero Slayer is a tough 2D platformer roguelike that should entertain fans of that genre for quite some time.

Sony today unveiled the March 2024 lineup of new games for the PlayStation Plus Premium and Extra catalog. Jak and Daxter fans, whom PlayStation and Naughty Dog rarely acknowledge, got a win today as the PSP version of Jak and Daxter: The Lost Frontier is getting rereleased for the first time via PlayStation Plus Premium on March 19.

Jak and Daxter: The Lost Frontier was released for PSP and PS2 in 2009 and is the closest thing we've ever gotten to a Jak 4. Although it's not as well-polished as Naughty Dog's trilogy, it's an important piece of Jak and Daxter history that wasn't easily playable outside of original hardware until this month. Hopefully, this sets the stage for PS Plus Premium rerelease of Daxter will eventually happen, although that isn't confirmed at this time.

Tchia will leave the PlayStation Plus Premium and Extra game catalog on March 19. And you really need to play this charming open-world adventure that I called "a new coming-of-age classic" in a four-star review before it's gone.

Released in March 2023, Awaceb and Kepler Interactive's Tchia is an open-world indie adventure heavily inspired by The Legend of Zelda titles like Breath of the Wild and The Wind Waker. It stands out by transporting players to a world inspired by the Pacific islands of New Caledonia and immersing them in its vibrant culture and mythology while telling a captivating coming-of-age story.
