PS Plus games: what’s new in December 2022

The PlayStation 5’s game library is full of fantastic titles for all gamers. It’s home to several critically acclaimed exclusives like God of War Ragnarok, Horizon Forbidden West, and Stray, among others — there are almost too many great games to keep track of (or afford to purchase). Thankfully, Sony has PS Plus, a game subscription service similar to Xbox Game Pass that allows members to download and play a growing library of PlayStation games for a small monthly fee.

New games are being added to the service every month, including recent hits, classics from years ago, and brand-new indie games. Check out the list below to see what games have been added to PS Plus recently. We’ll update this list every month as new titles are being added or removed from the library.

The second title in the Middle-earth saga, Shadow of War continues to follow the exploits of Talion, the Gondorian Ranger who bonded with the wraith of the Elf Lord Celebrimbor, as they forge a new Ring of Power to amass an army to fight against Sauron. Fights armies of orcs and ologs, recruit your own legion as the Bright Lord, and try to save Midde-earth from evil forces. This game is a must-play if you’ve never experienced it, and a worthwhile reply if you’ve only gone through the campaign once.

A villain in a clown mask stares menacingly in Until Dawn.

PlayStation's Until Dawn remake will launch this fall for PlayStation 5 and PC. The news was revealed on today's Sony State of Play stream, which featured a new trailer for the project that showed off its modernized visuals created in Unreal Engine 5.

Until Dawn is a PlayStation 4 horror game from developer Supermassive Games, the team behind recent titles like The Quarry. Released in 2015, it kick-started the studio's "interactive horror" style, which puts players at the center of a playable slasher film. A remake was announced in January with a 2024 release window. Now, we roughly know when to expect it, though we don't have an exact release date.

Sony's second State of Play presentation of the year just took place. It gave us a clearer look at what we can expect from PlayStation 5 and PlayStation VR2's video game lineup throughout the back half of 2024. That includes first-party games like Until Dawn's remake, Concord, and Astro Bot. Some impressive third-party titles like Dynasty Warriors Origins, Ballard of Antara, and Monster Hunter Wilds also showed up but had 2025 release windows.

If you play a lot of games on your PS5, you definitely won't want to miss anything that PlayStation Studios or any of its third-party partners revealed over the course of this State of Play. For your convenience, I rounded up every announcement made during this State of Play right here.
