If you’ve been wanting a PlayStation 5 but haven’t been able to get one this holiday season due to shortages, then good news — you may have the chance to buy one at Target tomorrow.

Target is reportedly restocking its supply of PS5s tomorrow, as told by staff from Target to Spiel Times and reported by Tom’s Guide. The staff said that they expected the consoles to only be going to certain stores though, with some stores getting between 10 and 15 machines and some getting none. This information is regarding stores in the U.S. Midwest, but the staff also said they’d heard similar things from other staff in Target stores on the West Coast, South Central, and South-Eastern areas.

The timeframe of the restocks is reported to be between December 27 and December 29, so start checking Target tomorrow if you want to score yourself a new console. However, remember that the PS5 is not available to buy in-store in Targets, so there’s no point in turning up in person. You’ll need to make a purchase online through Target’s website for collection at the store, with drive-up collection available to stay safe and distanced.

The Spiel Times says that Target typically restocks between 3 a.m. and 7 a.m. ET, and that it has restocked the PS5 typically between 5 a.m. and 7 a.m. ET in the past. So you’ll have to make it an early morning if you’re hoping to grab an elusive next-gen console.

The PlayStation 5 has received stellar reviews for speedy hardware enabling fast game loading times, with a new controller with enhanced haptics and an attractive modern design. With launch titles like Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales, the remake of Demon’s Souls, and Sackboy: A Big Adventure, the console has been a hit with gamers — or at least with those who have been able to get their hands on one. The console has been difficult to purchase due to high demand due to the pandemic and interrupted supply chains this year.

Experts are saying that the PS5 might not be easily available to purchase until the summer of 2021, so if you want one soon, you’ll have to keep an eye out on restocks like the one at Target tomorrow.

PS5 Pro: news, rumored release date, price, and specs
A PS5 standing on a table, with purple lights around it.

Rumors are running rampant about a supposed PlayStation 5 Pro, or PS5 Pro for short. Just like we got a mid-generation upgrade with the PS4 Pro  during the last console cycle, many people are expecting PlayStation to release an incrementally more powerful machine to bridge the gap between the launch unit and an eventual PlayStation 6. Leaks have been coming out from some fairly credible sources, with a lot of juicy and very specific details about what a hypothetical PS5 Pro could look like. As credible as these sources may be, we do still need to take everything we see with some skepticism until Sony officially confirms that this system even exists. Until then, here are all the rumors out there regarding the PS5 Pro.
Rumored release window

A constant release window that all leaks have pointed to is sometime in Fall of 2024. That's right around the corner, probably in the September through November range, meaning we should be getting an official announcement on the console if that is indeed the plan. It appears that PS5 Pro dev kits are now in the hands of more developers, who have been asked that PS5 Pro-enhanced games be submitted for certification in August. These developments point toward a 2024 release.

If you’re not using PlayStation Stars, you’re missing out
Three phone screens with the PlayStation Stars app.

I wouldn't blame you if you forgot PlayStation Stars existed. In fact, I would guess the majority of people out there have no idea what that even is, but PlayStation's reward program deserves more attention than it's getting.

Launched in the summer of 2022, PlayStation Stars is a program meant to reward players for engaging with the PlayStation ecosystem. You can take on challenges to earn digital collectibles and, more importantly, coins that can be redeemed for games, store credit, and some premium in-game currencies.

A furnace golem looms in Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree.

The PlayStation 5 has been out for some time now, and its reception has been mostly positive. It includes lots of quality-of-life improvements over its predecessor, the PlayStation 4, such as faster load times, a solid-state drive (SSD) instead of a regular hard disk drive (HDD), and an improved controller in the form of the new DualSense. However, a console is only as good as the games available on it, and thankfully, the PS5 has you covered on that front as well.

While the machine already has a worthy library of great PS5 games, there are even more to look forward to, with some releasing as soon as this month, while others are still years away. In the video game world, it's not uncommon to be aware of games that are still several years out from release. It's also normal for a new game to be revealed and launched within just a couple of months. In this comprehensive list, we'll go through the major PS5 releases scheduled for 2023 and speculate on future games.
