Kiosk rental service Redbox is looking into expanding its offering of games to include PlayStation 4, Wii U, and Xbox One, with the newcomer platforms to be added as soon as April 1, according to report from Polygon.

The news came from a series of images on the company’s official website that were then captured by a NeoGAF user. Redbox has since removed the image, but screenshots remain. The images in question showed several Wii U games coming as early as March 25, while multiple PlayStation 4 and Xbox One titles are supposedly due to arrive on April 1. The image specifically listed Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag, Call of Duty: Ghosts, and Thief, but those were just the titles featured in the image grabbed. It’s only a matter of time until Redbox starts offering next-gen titles for rental, so even if the rumored dates are wrong it’s just a matter of time before that happens.

Pricing wasn’t listed, but Redbox currently charges $2 per day for games. With the price of games remaining the same on retail shelves regardless of which generation of platform it is on, there’s no reason to expect a higher rental price for the next-gen titles.

April’s most anticipated RPG is coming to Xbox Game Pass
Key art for Eiyuden Chronicle Hundred Heroes.

We've learned about the titles that will come to Xbox Game Pass throughout the back half of April, and several of them are games getting added to the catalog the day they launch. Of those, the most notable is Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes.

While that name is a mouthful, RPG fans will want to pay attention to Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes as it is a spiritual successor to the long-dormant Konami RPG series Suikoden. Many of the developers who worked on the original Suikoden games worked together to reimagine the concept for the modern era, creating an RPG with over 100 recruitable party members, engaging combat, and a gorgeous pixelated art style that gives Square Enix's HD-2D games a run for their money. Prequel game Eiyuden Chronicle: Rising is already on Xbox Game Pass too, so Microsoft seems all-in on backing this Suikoden successor as we wait for Konami to release remasters of those titles or a new game in the series.

Fallout 4 is finally getting free Xbox Series X and PS5 upgrades
New Fallout 4 Creation Club mod content coming with the Xbox Series X and PS5 launch.

Bethesda has confirmed that the current-gen update for Fallout 4 will finally release on April 25.

That's good timing, as a Fallout TV show just released on Amazon Prime this month to positive buzz. Fallout 4 came out for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox One in 2015, and this definitely looks like it will be the most substantial update the game has received since its last expansion was released.

In a company interview with CEO Yves Guillemot posted on the Ubisoft website Thursday, the executive reveals that there are remakes of Assassin's Creed games in the works, although he doesn't specify which ones.

"Players can be excited about some remakes, which will allow us to revisit some of the games we've created in the past and modernize them," he says, implying that it could pertain to games made before Odyssey. "There are worlds in some of our older Assassin's Creed games that are still extremely rich."
