Everyone knows a big part of the Fab Four’s sound was their tight vocal performances…and now rumors are circulating that the forthcoming The Beatles: Rock Band will feature support for multiple simultaneous singers, enabling players to sing in harmony along with Beatles music. According to the May issue of Game Informer, each singer would use a separate microphone, and the program would track each singer’s performance separately.
More concrete than rumor of multi-singer support is news that the $250 Limited Edition Premium Bundle of The Beatles: Rock Band will include a bass guitar controller modelled on Paul McCartney’s famous Höfner “violin bass” (personally, we’d prefer the Rickenbacher from later years, since it could actually play notes in tune above the fifth fret), pearl-finish Ludwig-branded drums with a metal kick pedal and vintage drum head, as well as a microphone stand.
The Beatles: Rock Band is scheduled to ship for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and Nintendo Wii on September 9, 2009.
