Needles across the world of gaming headsets are moving today as Sennheiser unveiled two brand new offerings to the segment, the G4ME ZERO and G4ME ONE. The new PC and Mac-compatible headsets are packed full of Sennheiser magic, and claim to offer supreme comfort and superior audio performance to help keep you deep in the action for hours on end. Let’s take a quick look at each of them below to see what Sennheiser has in store.
The G4ME ZERO ($280)
The G4ME ZERO (pictured above) is a closed headset design that packs a bevy of features to create a gaming experience that promises to be as comfortable as it is immersive. The headset’s custom made aluminum earcups borrow from Sennheiser’s aviation ‘phones, boasting dual layered XXL memory foam earpads cloaked in leatherette for a tight, form-fitting seal to keep the game sound in and the real world out. The transducers inside pack Sennheiser’s “Ergonomic Acoustic Refinement” technology, designed to channel the signal straight to your eardrums with a massive frequency range of 10Hz-26kHz.
Other features for the G4ME ZERO include a noise canceling microphone which mutes when raised, onboard volume control, and a collapsible design to allow easy travel to your next gaming event. The headset also comes with a PCV 05 Audio Combo adapter for Mac, and a travel case.
The G4ME ONE ($250)
The G4ME ONE features an open-ear design to keep air flowing in the heat of battle, and promises an accurate, natural aural experience. Like its companion, the headset boasts Sennheiser’s “Ergonomic Acoustic Refinement” tech, as well as a noise canceling microphone with muting function, onboard volume control, and dual layered XXL memory foam pads.
Adding a softer touch, the G4ME ONE’s earpads rock velvet skins instead of leatherette. The frequency range of the drivers extends from 17Hz up into the rafters to 28kHZ, and the headset also comes with a PCV 05 adapter for Mac.
While we haven’t had a chance to sit down and get our game on with Sennheiser’s newest toys yet, past experience and the Sennheiser name tells us the company’s latest progeny will likely deliver. You can get your hands on the new G4ME ZERO and G4ME ONE now.
