If you collect Nintendo’s amiibo figurines, you’re probably already comfortable (or at least grudgingly familiar) with the idea of paying a premium for your favorite characters. If you’re after a full amiibo set, though, be prepared to overhaul your budget to account for Activision’s upcoming Skylanders SuperChargers.

Activision revealed today that the Wii and Wii U “Dark Edition” Starter Packs for Skylanders SuperChargers will ship with unique variant amiibo that will not be available individually. These packs are priced at $100 apiece, making SuperChargers a very expensive proposition for hardcore amiibo collectors.

The Wii U’s Dark Edition of SuperChargers will ship with an exclusive Dark Turbo Charge Donkey Kong figure and a Dark Barrel Blaster vehicle. The Wii’s Dark Edition Starter Pack includes a Dark Hammer Slam Bowser amiibo and his Dark Clown Cruiser.

Activision announced during E3 that it would bundle figurines of Nintendo characters exclusively with the Wii and Wii U versions of Skylanders SuperChargers. These figures offer a unique dual-compatibility mode, allowing them to serve as both summonable characters within Skylanders games and as amiibo compatible with upcoming Nintendo titles.

The upcoming Dark Edition Starter Packs for the Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 4, and PS3 versions of Skylanders SuperChargers will include the exclusive Dark Super Shot Stealth Elf and Dark Sea Shadow figures. Figurines of Nintendo characters are not compatible with versions of Skylanders SuperChargers for Sony and Microsoft platforms.

While the Wii U version of Skylanders SuperChargers is functionally identical to ports available on Microsoft’s and Sony’s platforms, the Wii edition is a different game entirely, focusing more on the racing aspect of SuperChargers instead of series-standard platforming.

The Skylanders SuperChargers Dark Edition Starter Pack retails for $100, while regular edition Starter Packs are priced at $75. Non-Dark Edition versions of the Bowser and Donkey Kong figurines are available for $15 apiece. Want all available amiibo variants? You’re looking at a minimum $230 investment.
