Sony reveals rainbow of Playstation Vita colors

Sony continues to unveil new looks for its console and handheld gaming systems during this week’s Tokyo Game Show. While the previous announcements were focused on the Playstation 3, the latest rainbow of options to be revealed are for the Playstation Vita.

Kotaku has posted eight photos form the floor of the show featuring the Vita in various colors. Along with green, blue, and indigo options, there’s also a swanky gold Vita on display, among other colors.

And though the photo apparently doesn’t do it justice, there’s also a white Vita that looks it be right at home next to any Apple product (or the original Nintendo Wii).

It’s interesting to note that, with the exception of the white Vita, the colors shown for Sony’s upcoming handheld don’t differ all that much from the current (and previously announced) color schemes for the Nintendo 3DS. Heck, they both even have that crazy gold model.

There’s no word on whether all of these colors will be available when the Vita goes on sale next year.

Astro Bot and its PlayStation character cameos, which include Aloy and Nathan Drake on the right.

During Sony's May 2024 State of Play presentation, Sony revealed a new Astro Bot game -- simply titled Astro Bot. It's the third game in the platformer series, and it's due out for PlayStation 5 on September 6.

The game's reveal trailer shows our hero Astro waking up in a desert by a fox-shaped robot. He then flies off on a ship shaped like a DualSense controller. The trailer shows Astro visiting several diverse biomes, including arctic areas, beaches, and even high up in the clouds. Several PlayStation cameos are in the trailer as well, including Parappa the Rappa, Kratos from God of War Ragnarok, and Aloy from Horizon Forbidden West.

Keen to learn more about if the PS5 is for you? Let’s take a look.

Why you should buy the Sony PlayStation 5 Slim
Considered to be the best game console around at the moment, the PlayStation 5 is a delight to use. It offers speedy hardware with an eight-core CPU running on a modified version of AMD’s Ryzen line. With 10.28 teraflops of power, it supports great looking processes like ray tracing so you get advanced lighting while you play. Crucially, it’s the little things that soon add up like how if you play Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, fast traveling is instantaneous and instantly appealing.
