Square Enix Presents livestream: When it airs, how to watch, and what to expect

Square Enix is entering the digital presentation game. Following in the footsteps of companies like Nintendo and Sony, the studio will hold its first Square Enix Presents event this week. The stream will feature news on several upcoming games from the publisher, as well as some new announcements.

Fans don’t have to speculate as to what’s being shown. Square Enix released the event’s itinerary beforehand to avoid disappointment. While there could be surprises in store, expectations should be fully in check. Here’s how you can watch the stream, as well as exactly what you will and won’t see.

When is the Square Enix Presents stream?

The event will broadcast at 10 a.m. PT on Thursday, March 18. Recent events like the last Nintendo Direct have opted for later evening windows, so this will be a nice way for West Casters to start their morning and a nice midday break for East Coasters. The show will run around 40 minutes long.

Where can I watch the Square Enix Presents stream?

You can catch the stream in one of two places. Either head over to Square Enix’s Twitch channel or its YouTube channel. The broadcasts will start at the same time and be identical, so pick your poison.

What will be shown at Square Enix Presents?

There’s a clear answer here. The headline is a new entry in the Life is Strange series. Square Enix hasn’t said whether or not its a full sequel or a spinoff, but its been teasing a new character with special abilities.

The other big news will revolve around Tomb Raider. Square Enix will announce something for the game’s 25th anniversary, though it’s staying tight-lipped on what exactly. It could just mention how Lara Croft is featured in the new season of Fortnite. It’s more likely that we could see a collection of older Tomb Raider titles to celebrate the milestone.

We’ll also get updates on some upcoming games like Outriders, Balan Wonderland, and Just Cause Mobile. The only other new announcements expected focus on some projects by Taito and a mobile game from the team behind Lara Croft Go.

What won’t be shown at Square Enix Presents

If it’s not mentioned above, don’t expect it. Square Enix made the schedule very clear, and it’s not likely to deviate from that. That means fans probably shouldn’t expect to see anything related to Final Fantasy, like Final Fantasy XVI. Of course, events like this always tend to have a “one more thing” moment, so we might get a small teaser. However, Square Enix says this is the first of many events, so it’s likely saving some reveals for the next stream.

Cloud and his friends overlook a scenic field.

By expanding the Midgar section of Final Fantasy 7 into an entire game, Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth finally takes us beyond the walls into the world beyond. This much larger swath of land to explore begs the question of just how big this game will be. Between all the open-world tasks, sidequests, and minigames awaiting in the Gold Saucer, could this game really be a 100-hour experience as was claimed? What if you just tried to focus on the main story to see what has or hasn't changed? We've played through the entirety of Final Fantasy 7: Rebirth and can give you a good idea of just how long it will take you to reach this chapter's conclusion.

Note: We will not be spoiling any story details, but will list how many chapters there are.

What to expect from the February 2024 Pokémon Presents
The official description for the February 2024 Pokémon Presents simply states it will contain "exciting Pokémon news in celebration of Pokemon Day 2024." That's incredibly vague, and there aren't any announced, but yet unreleased Pokémon games, apps, or expansions right now.
