Fans eager for the return of this beloved shooter series have had very little to go on so far for the revival, but EA promises that “soon your patience will be rewarded.”
The game will make its first public appearance at the annual Star Wars Celebration, this coming April 16-19 in Anaheim, California. Stars, filmmakers, and fans will come together for four days at the Anaheim Convention Center to celebrate all things from the galaxy far, far away. Anticipation and speculation about Episode VII: The Force Awakens, set to come out on December 18, will no doubt be at a fever pitch.

The first Star Wars Battlefront came out just over 10 years ago for PlayStation 2, Windows, and Xbox. The game combined first- and third-person shooting with vehicles for Empire-vs-Rebels battles based around seizing and holding particular positions on the map.
Numerous follow-ups and spin-offs came out through 2009 on various platforms, but there has not been a proper sequel since the 2005 release of Battlefront II. Battlefront III went into development in 2008, but was subsequently cancelled. The new title, rebooted to simply Star Wars Battlefront, will leverage the power of the latest consoles to render the largest Star Wars battles yet to grace video games.
