Inspired by the upcoming Star Wars franchise film Rogue One, the Scarif DLC introduces a collection of new heroes and weapons, along with four additional multiplayer maps.
Season Pass buyers get an early look at the Rogue One Scarif DLC starting Tuesday, and can unlock new characters Jyn Erso and Director Krennic for play across all gameplay modes. Veteran players can also expect to see new weapons and vehicles, including the multipurpose A180 blaster pistol and the spacefaring U-wing ship.
Taking place “on Scarif and in space above the planet,” the DLC’s new maps are designed to accommodate Infiltration, an all-new gameplay mode premiering alongside this week’s content update. During multiphase Infiltration matches, players must first breach the shield encircling Scarif before creating an explosive diversion and escaping with Imperial secrets.
A comprehensive patch accompanies the launch of the Rogue One Scarif DLC, bringing the game’s level cap up from 90 to 100, as well as adjusting health and damage output among several featured characters. Dedicated players who reach the new level cap are awarded a new Shoretrooper Captain unlock to mark their achievement.
PlayStation VR owners can also tackle the PS4-exclusive Rogue One: X-wing VR Mission after installing this week’s DLC. PC players, meanwhile, will need to update their AMD drivers to version 15.7 or above in order to experience the new content launching in the month ahead.
Star Wars: Battlefront‘s Rogue One Scarif DLC is available now for players across all platforms who purchased the game’s Season Pass or DLC-bundled Ultimate Edition. The expansion will launch as a stand-alone download for all players on December 20.
