Star Wars: The Old Republic Trailer

Star Wars fans that are into MMOs will have the chance to wash the taste of the underwhelming Star Wars: Galaxies out of their mouth next year when The Old Republic comes to the PC sometime in the spring.  Although the release is still quite a ways away, there is a new trailer for your enjoyment.

Set 3,500 years before the events of the Star Wars films, and 300 years after the events of the Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic games. A truce between the Sith Empire and the Galactic Republic exists, and the Jedi have recently chosen to relocate from Coruscant to Tython, the original home of the Jedi.  Meanwhile, the Sith have moved to Korriban and established a Sith Academy. The game begins when a conflict arises. If none of these words make any sense to you, then this is not the game for you.

The player will be able to create their character and choose the type of person, and whether they are aligned with the Sith or the Jedi. For the Jedi, the playable classes will include: Trooper, Smuggler, Jedi Knight, and Jedi Consular. For the Sith: Bounty Hunter, Sith Warrior, Imperial Agent, and Sith Inquisitor will be available. Each class will have their own backstory and branching storyline, and each will be affected by the moral choices that they make.

The game will be developer BioWare’s first try at an MMO after several successful RPGs, including Star Wars: Knights of the OId Republic. A single player campaign will be available, but the focus seems to be online play.

We’ll have to wait awhile before we get chance to really see the game shine, but for now check out the very cool trailer below.

PlayStation announced during its May 2024 State of Play that Ragnarok would be coming to PC two years after it originally came to PlayStation 4 and 5 consoles. Three phone screens with the PlayStation Stars app.

I wouldn't blame you if you forgot PlayStation Stars existed. In fact, I would guess the majority of people out there have no idea what that even is, but PlayStation's reward program deserves more attention than it's getting.

Launched in the summer of 2022, PlayStation Stars is a program meant to reward players for engaging with the PlayStation ecosystem. You can take on challenges to earn digital collectibles and, more importantly, coins that can be redeemed for games, store credit, and some premium in-game currencies.
