‘Titanfall 2’ minimum specifications set a comfortably low bar for older PCs

Respawn Entertainment has unveiled the minimum and recommended specs for the PC version of Titanfall 2 and it looks pretty forgiving, unless you want to run the game in 4K.

Titanfall 2 is still more than a month away, so you still have time to get your PC up to spec, but chances are you will not have to. The latest entry in the Titanfall series follows in the footsteps of the original game by providing comfortably low minimum specs without sacrificing detail for the higher end of the PC-performance spectrum.

In order to run Titanfall 2 without the game looking like a slideshow, you will need at least an Intel Core i3-6300T, 8GB of RAM and either an Nvidia GeForce GTX 660 with 2GB of RAM or an AMD Radeon HD 7850 2GB.

So even if your PC is a little long in the tooth, you will probably be able to get in on the giant-robot-fighting action without too much trouble. Your game will not look great, but it will run.

Right in the middle of the spectrum you have the recommended specs required to run Titanfall 2 in 1080p with high graphical detail and they are a little more demanding but right in line with Titanfall’s competitors.

You will need an Intel Core i5-6600 or equivalent, 16GB of RAM, and either an Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 6GB, or AMD Radeon RX 480 8GB. Nothing too painful, you might want to upgrade your RAM if your PC is a little behind the curve, but they are not the most demanding specs in recent releases.

On the other hand, if you want to get the most out of Titanfall 2, with every detail setting maxed out, running the game in 4K, you are going to need the latest and greatest. For 4K and 60 FPS, Respawn Entertainment recommends an Intel Core i7-6700K, 16GB of RAM, and an Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080 with 8GB of RAM.

Titanfall 2 drops next month on October 28.

Ubisoft confirms Assassin’s Creed remakes are in the works
Basim perched on a ledge overlooking Baghdad

In a company interview with CEO Yves Guillemot posted on the Ubisoft website Thursday, the executive reveals that there are remakes of Assassin's Creed games in the works, although he doesn't specify which ones.

"Players can be excited about some remakes, which will allow us to revisit some of the games we've created in the past and modernize them," he says, implying that it could pertain to games made before Odyssey. "There are worlds in some of our older Assassin's Creed games that are still extremely rich."

Surfaced patent shows what an Xbox streaming console would’ve looked like
An Xbox Series X sits next to both Series S models.

There have been a few Xbox devices that have never come to fruition, one of which was Keystone, a prototype for an affordable game streaming device you could hook up to your TV or monitor. Thanks to a surfaced patent, we've gotten an even closer look at what it would've potentially looked like.

The patent, first spotted by Windows Central, gives us a more complete view of the device. We've previously seen the Keystone in the flesh. Microsoft Gaming head Phil Spencer is known for hiding teases and interesting collectibles on the shelf in his office. In a 2022 X (formerly Twitter) post congratulating Bethesda on Fallout's 25th anniversary, you can see a small white device on the top shelf that's actually a Keystone prototype. Xbox told Digital Trends that it was a version of the device made before it decided to "refocus our efforts on a new approach.”
