Are you a streamer? Microsoft wants you to be. This morning at their E3 press conference, they revealed a new partnership with Twitch TV that will integrate the streaming service into the Xbox One and allow Xbox Live Gold Members to stream games to their own Twitch channels, and also allow them to watch other Twitch game streams.
“Live broadcasting has continued to grow in popularity, but sharing your console experience has never been this easy,” said Emmett Shear, Twitch CEO. “Xbox Live Gold is enabling the ability to both upload your gameplay directly to Twitch and to stream Twitch content on Xbox One. The impact of this level of console integration will be a true game changer.”
This was demonstrated with some live gameplay of type newly announced, new version of Killer Instinct that is coming to the console. One player “shared” the other into thinking she was lousy at the game, and she then turned on Twitch, via voice command, and streamed out the game video as she handed his ass to him. It’s a nifty service that feels a bit niche to us right now, but with 35 million unique views each month and growing, Twitch is already rivaling mainstream entertainment, and you might find yourself Twitching games with this new and easy integration.
