‘Warcraft’ adds three more to the cast

The Duncan Jones helmed Warcraft has added three more names to its cast, with a fourth in negotiations, according to Variety.

Actors Ben Foster (Lone Survivor, The Mechanic), Toby Kebbell (Wrath of the Titans, War Horse), and Rob Kazinsky (Pacific Rim, True Blood) are reportedly confirmed, and Dominic Cooper (Captain America: The First Avenger, Need for Speed) is currently in negotiations. The three, possibly four, join the previously announced Travis Fimmel (Vikings,The Beast) and Paula Patton (2 Guns, Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol).

Loosely based on the Warcraft games, the film’s plot (written by Duncan Jones and Charles Leavitt) is still mostly unknown. Jones recently stated that the film would focus on the initial meeting between humans and orcs, and that it would follow the lead of the games by casting both factions in a similar light with neither side being the “good” or “bad” guys.

Warcraft was originally scheduled for release on December 18, 2015, but the studio wisely chose to push that date back to avoid going head to head with Star Wars: Episode VII. Warcraft will now hit theaters on March 11, 2016. The delay won’t affect filming though, which is set to begin in January. Expect more casting news in the weeks to come.

Funko Fusion mashes up The Thing, Hot Fuzz, Nope, and much more

I grew up adoring Lego video games, but recent efforts from TT Games like The Skywalker Saga just haven’t gelled with me. That’s why Funko Fusion piqued my interest. It’s the first release from 10:10 Games, a studio founded by TT Games founder Jon Burton and former TT Games Head of Design Arthur Parsons, and is a video game about a popular set of toys themed around certain properties. I got an early look at Funko Fusion ahead of its September 13 release date announcement, and what I saw was equal parts weird and ambitious.

It's a crossover of several franchises, including more violent ones like Invincible, Shaun of the Dead, and The Thing. It’s going for a teen rating and is a bit bloody sometimes, but everything still has a cutesy, vinyl Funko Pop aesthetic. On top of that, it’s also a co-op shooter with somewhat destructible environments. Although Funko Fusion seems like it will be exhausting for those tired of IP crossover gobbledygook, I’ll definitely be keeping an eye on it now that I’ve fallen out of love with Lego video games.

BlizzCon 2024 is not happening despite Blizzard’s strong 2024 lineup

World of Warcraft, Diablo, and Overwatch maker Blizzard Entertainment confirmed that BlizzCon 2024 will not be happening.

BlizzCon was a convention that Blizzard Entertainment held almost every year between 2005 and 2019 to celebrate its games and make new announcements. The pandemic and hostile workplace allegations against Blizzard meant that no shows were held in 2020 or 2022 (2021 was digital-only), but BlizzCon made its grand return in 2023. We attended it last November and had the opportunity to speak with developers and learn more about Microsoft Gaming CEO Phil Spencer's first visit to Blizzard, upcoming plans for franchises like Diablo and Warcraft, and more. Although Blizzard never outright confirmed that it would hold BlizzCon in 2024, the event was expected to continue after its return last year.

How to get Zinc Ore in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth

After breaking out of the confined spaces of Midgar in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, a lot of new opportunities and mechanics have been introduced. Along with some standard open-world activities, collecting tons of resources as you travel will be a constant. Icons for all sorts of rocks, plants, and beast parts are needed to transmute new items. Zinc Ore is no different, but it is required for some great accessories you probably want to make early. If you need this precious rock but don't know where to start looking, hop on your chocobo, and we'll lead you right to it.
Where to find zinc ore

Zinc Ore can only be found in the mid- to late-game regions. These include the Corel and Gongaga regions, Cosmo Canyon, Nibel region, and the Meridian Ocean. The most plentiful location we've found the ore is in Corel, and most often on Mount Corel itself. Ride your chocobo here and pay attention when it notices something hidden. Sniff it out, and there's a decent chance you will find some Zinc Ore, but it also appears as normal pickups in the environment. There's also a chance that enemies will drop this resource after battle, so don't skip by them when searching. Unfortunately, all items in an area appear to be randomized, so you can't count on finding Zinc Ore every time, even in the same spots, but this is by far the best place to go.
