Two Point Campus spearheads Xbox Game Pass’ August lineup

The new titles coming to Xbox Game Pass include Ghost Recon Wildlands, Two Point Campus, Cooking Simulator, and more starting today.

At the beginning and middle of each month, Xbox Game Pass subscribers are treated to a handful of new titles added to their subscription service to play on cloud, console, and PC. This month will bring seven new games to the service, with the headliners being the open world co-op military shooter Ghost Recon Wildlands, which is already available, and the university building and management sim Two Point Campus, which will be part of the service on day one when it launches on August 9.

The full lineup of games coming between today and August 11 includes the following:

  • Ghost Recon Wildlands (cloud, console, and PC on August 2)
  • Shenzhen I/O (PC on August 4)
  • Turbo Golf Racing (cloud, console, and PC on August 4)
  • Two Point Campus (cloud, console, and PC on August 9)
  • Cooking Simulator (cloud, console, and PC on August 11)
  • Expeditions: Rome (PC on August 11)
  • Offworld Trading Compay (PC on August 11)

A handful of DLC and updates will also be coming, such as the first DLC episode for Citizen Sleeper, Sniper Elite 5’s Landing Force Mission and Weapon Pack, and Sea of Thieves Season seven on August 4.

Along with the new additions, subscribers will lose access to five titles. If any of these look interesting, you can purchase them before they leave for a 20% discount. The titles on their way out on August 15 include the following:

  • Boyfriend Dungeon
  • Curse of the Dead Gods
  • Library of Runia
  • Starmancer
  • Train Sim World 2

While by no means a showstopper of a month, Two Point Campus and Turbo Golf Racing arriving as day one additions will hopefully appease players looking for brand-new content on Xbox Game Pass.

After days of speculation, Xbox confirmed that Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 will come to Xbox Game Pass at launch. Xbox has not specified which platforms it will come to, though.

When Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 was officially announced last week, fans immediately began speculating about its Game Pass status. It's the first Call of Duty title released since Microsoft successfully acquired Activision Blizzard, so a Game Pass launch seemed likely. While the announcement was initially leaked by a Game Pass notification, Xbox has now officially confirmed that the game is bound for the service.

3 Xbox Game Pass games to play over Memorial Day weekend (May 24-27)
Senua carries a torch in Senua's Saga: Hellblade 2.

This was a big week for Xbox as it received its first console-exclusive first-party game of the year in Senua's Saga: Hellblade 2. We're also approaching a holiday weekend where you'll have a lot more time to play video games if you so choose. As such, there's one really easy recommendation I can make to people looking for what to play this weekend. Hellblade 2 is a very dark and mature game that depicts what it's like to have psychosis, though, so my other recommendations are a little more lighthearted.

The first is an indie game that launched in Xbox Game Pass earlier this month, where players control a cat exploring a city. The other is a collection of classic Pac-Man games that is leaving Xbox Game Pass very soon. Those two are worth checking out if you want some more relaxing, gameplay-focused fun this weekend after the intense experience Xbox Game Studios' latest offers.

Will Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 be on Xbox Game Pass?
Key art for Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War season 2.

Activision Blizzard, which is now owned by Microsoft, has just confirmed that the next Call of Duty game is titled Call of Duty: Black Ops 6. There's been one major point of contention ahead of this year's Call of Duty: Will it be on Xbox Game Pass at launch? A new report from The Wall Street Journal suggests that is the case.

Historically, Microsoft has added all its first-party games from Xbox Game Studios and Bethesda to Game Pass the day they launched. That applies to big AAA releases like Starfield, as well as more experimental titles like 2022's Pentiment and Senua's Saga: Hellblade 2, which came out this week. Microsoft's public messaging thus far has teased that Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 will come to the Xbox Game Pass. That said, Microsoft has not officially confirmed it, so there have been conflicting reports on this actually being the case.
