Jurassic Park: Evolution, Final Fantasy XII coming to Xbox Game Pass in February

Microsoft revealed the round of games coming to its Xbox Game Pass service in February. The list includes Jurassic World: Evolution, Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age, and Xbox Series X launch title The Falconeer.

Jurassic World Evolution joins the service on February 11. Based on the popular film franchise, the game is a management simulator where players create and maintain their own dinosaur park. The game will be available for Xbox console and Android owners.

Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age comes to both console and PC on February 11. The classic RPG originally released in 2006, but was remastered and released as an expanded package called The Zodiac Age in 2017.

Xbox Series X/S launch game The Falconeer joins the service on February 4 and will be available on console, PC, and Android. The open-world aerial combat game lets players fly on the back of a giant falcon and explore an expansive world.

A handful of indies are coming to the service in the first half of the month. Multiplayer survival game Project Winter is coming to console, PC, and Android, and medieval action RPG Ghost of a Tale will launch on PC. Both games will be added to the service on February 4. Indie platformer Stealth Inc. 2: A Game of Clones comes to PC and Android on February 11.

Rounding out the bunch, Wolfenstein: Youngblood will join Microsoft’s cloud streaming service on February 11. Bethesda’s co-op first-person shooter is currently available on both the console and PC version of the service.

Four games will leave the service later this month, including De Blob, Ninja Gaiden II, and World of Horror.

3 Xbox Game Pass games to play over Memorial Day weekend (May 24-27)
Senua carries a torch in Senua's Saga: Hellblade 2.

This was a big week for Xbox as it received its first console-exclusive first-party game of the year in Senua's Saga: Hellblade 2. We're also approaching a holiday weekend where you'll have a lot more time to play video games if you so choose. As such, there's one really easy recommendation I can make to people looking for what to play this weekend. Hellblade 2 is a very dark and mature game that depicts what it's like to have psychosis, though, so my other recommendations are a little more lighthearted.

The first is an indie game that launched in Xbox Game Pass earlier this month, where players control a cat exploring a city. The other is a collection of classic Pac-Man games that is leaving Xbox Game Pass very soon. Those two are worth checking out if you want some more relaxing, gameplay-focused fun this weekend after the intense experience Xbox Game Studios' latest offers.

Will Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 be on Xbox Game Pass?
Key art for Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War season 2.

Activision Blizzard, which is now owned by Microsoft, has just confirmed that the next Call of Duty game is titled Call of Duty: Black Ops 6. There's been one major point of contention ahead of this year's Call of Duty: Will it be on Xbox Game Pass at launch? A new report from The Wall Street Journal suggests that is the case.

Historically, Microsoft has added all its first-party games from Xbox Game Studios and Bethesda to Game Pass the day they launched. That applies to big AAA releases like Starfield, as well as more experimental titles like 2022's Pentiment and Senua's Saga: Hellblade 2, which came out this week. Microsoft's public messaging thus far has teased that Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 will come to the Xbox Game Pass. That said, Microsoft has not officially confirmed it, so there have been conflicting reports on this actually being the case.

3 Xbox Game Pass games you should play this weekend (May 17-19)
Bayek in Assassin's Creed Origins.

As the weekend approaches, you're probably happy that you'll soon have more time to check out some video games. And if you're an Xbox Game Pass subscriber and aren't sure what to play, you have a lot to choose from. That's where I come in. I've looked through the Xbox Game Pass lineup and found three games that I think all kinds of players can have a good time with this weekend.

The first game reimagined what Assassin's Creed could be and is worth a revisit following the announcement of Assassin's Creed Shadows. Next up, we have a standout indie from 2023 that's all about deciphering different languages and exploring how people communicate on an intrinsic level. Finally, there's an underrated magical first-person shooter from EA that just came to the subscription service this week and is worth a look.
