Xbox Game Pass welcomes in Halloween with some spooky new additions

The second monthly release of titles for Game Pass have been fully revealed. Aside from known big hitters such as Persona 5 Royal and A Plague Tale: Requiem, the entire Amnesia series will also arrive in time for the spooky season.

As detailed by Xbox, eight titles will be added to Game Pass. For the second half of October, the focus appears to be on delivering horror experiences, such as Amnesia: Collection, Amnesia: Rebirth, and Soma. Of course this also marks the first time Xbox users will be able to play the critically acclaimed JRPG Persona 5 Royal, plus a few other surprises. Here’s a full list of the games coming to the service and what date you can access them:

Amnesia: Collection (Cloud, Console, and PC) – October 20
Amnesia: Rebirth (Cloud, Console, and PC) – October 20
Phantom Abyss (Cloud, Xbox Series X/S, and PC) – October 20
Soma (Cloud, Console, and PC) – October 20
Persona 5 Royal (Cloud, Console, and PC) – October 21
Frog Detective: The Entire Mystery (PC) – October 27
Gunfire Reborn (Cloud, Console, and PC) – October 27
Signalis (Cloud, Console, and PC) – October 27

With every batch of titles added, there is a set of games that will leave Game Pass at the end of the month. Notable titles leaving the service in October include The Forgotten City and Sniper Elite 4. If any game looks appealing, make sure to purchase it for a 20% discount before it leaves. It’s the most exciting time of year to be a video game fan, as almost every notable video game publisher is getting ready to drop new showcases highlighting upcoming games. Across Summer Game Fest, Xbox Games Showcase, and the next Nintendo Direct, we’ll have a ton of new video games to be excited about. Although titles like Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 have already been confirmed for some of these shows, the fun part of this summer gaming marathon is predicting what’s going to show up.

There are five announcements in particular that I’m hoping to see during this summer’s showcases. From games that have leaked, but not been officially confirmed to titles announced years ago that have gone dark since, each of these will likely jump to the top of my personal most anticipated list if they are shown off during a showcase this summer. With some luck, they’ll be out not long after.

Every June, video game announcements typically take precedence over new releases. That said, there’s still plenty to look forward to this month, especially when it comes to new releases that build upon already existing games. Both Elden Ring and Destiny 2 are getting expansions, while Shin Megami Tensei V, Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon, and Monster Hunter Stories are all getting a new leases on life.

While some surprise launches at this month’s showcases will surely beef up June’s game release calendar, I’ve highlighted some of the games that you should be keeping on your radar when you’re able to divert your attention away from all the new reveals. Crash Bandicoot 4 dev partners with Xbox for next game — after leaving Xbox

Toys for Bob, the now-independent game developer best known for its work on Call of Duty and Crash Bandicoot games, announced that it struck a deal with Xbox, its former parent company, to publish its next game.

The studio revealed the move on X (formerly Twitter) Friday, adding that while the game is still in the early stages of development, the team is "working hard on an experience we're so sooo inspired about."
