The latest addition to Harmon Kardon’s growing headphone lineup, the $200 SOHO, will be showcased this week at the IFA electronics show in Berlin. The new headset takes a lesson in design from Harman’s popular CL headphone, offering retro style in a sleek, stainless steel frame, which conveniently folds down to less than 1.25-inches in width for easy travel.
Trading the CL’s dainty, skeletal frame for a more robust chassis, the SOHO appears to be a more durable alternative to its predecessor, while still providing minimalist elegance. The distinctive rectangular earpieces are equipped with high-performance 30mm drivers, and the slim frame is accented with firm padding along the band and earpieces, cloaked in stitched leather. Unlike many of Harman’s other headsets, the SOHO will be available in a triad of colors, including black, white, and camel. Included in the box is a low-profile travel case, as well as your choice of removable cables with in-line mic/remote pieces for either Android or iOS devices. You can bet we’ll be checking these headphones out as soon as we can get our hands on a pair.
Harman Kardon’s new SOHO headset will be available for purchase this November.
