Amongst the products JVC is unveiling this year at the Consumer Electronics Show, the company is hoping to prove two great tastes taste great together by marrying two staples of high-tech life: the LCD TV and the iPod. The new JVC P-series LCD televisions will come in sizes ranging from 32- to 52-inches, and feature an integrated iPod dock that enables users to route video or audio playback from the iPod right through the TV.
The 32-inch model will support 768p resolution, while the remaining 42-, 47-, and 52-inch models will all offer 1080p resolution. When docked, the television remote can be used to control the iPod, and offers a circular controller that mimic the famous iPod click wheel. In addition to music and video, users can display photos stored on their iPods using their big-screen TVs, and (of course) the iPods will charge while docked with the television.
In addition to iPod connectivity, the televisions sport three HDMI inputs, one S-Video inputs, S/PDIF and analog audio output, and a 10W-per-channel stereo speaker system. There’s also a side-accessible USB photo viewer.
JVC says it will ship the 42-inch model on March 2, with the 768p 32-inch model following that same month. The 47-inch will hit retailers in April, with the 52-inch giant scheduled for “summer 2008.” Sadly, JVC hasn’t released any pricing information yet.
