Klipsch’s first true wireless earbuds arrive at CES 2019

American audio brand Klipsch announced a slew of new devices at this year’s Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, all of which should excite fans of the brand and newcomers alike.

First and foremost, the company is looking to expand its headphone line with a slew of compelling new in-ear options. It will add four new headphones in what it calls the T5 line, including the company’s first pair of true wireless earbuds (called the T5 True Wireless).

We have very little detail of the performance specs (battery life/driver size and type) in the new wireless in-ears, but we can say that they appear to be very stylish. They come in a sleek silver case that resembles classic flip-top Zippo lighters. The company says all four new headphones models will be available this spring, with prices ranging from $59 to $199.

The company also announced some exciting new soundbars, five in total, that are aimed at bringing outstanding clarity and realism to your favorite on-screen moments. All of the soundbars come with some smart functionality on board, from built-in Google Assistant on the smallest Klipsch Bar 40G to Google Assistant, Alexa, and Airplay 2 compatibility on the largest Klipsch Bar 54A. The larger Klipsch Bar 48W and Klipsch Bar 54A will also feature immersive surround sound options, with the former offering DTS Virtual:X surround and the latter offering Dolby Atmos compatibility. All five new soundbars will be available in the spring and will range in price from $299 to $1,599.

Klipsch also expanded its Heritage Wireless speakers with a new model called The Three that comes with Google Assistant onboard. It will feature various finish options, and will even be made into a special portable version for those interested in taking their tunes with them on the go. Prices will range from $149 to $499, and the speakers will trickle out in spring and summer this year.

Sony's very best wireless audio tech is usually reserved for its flagship headphones and earbuds, currently the WH-1000XM5 and WF-1000XM5. However, it looks like the company is going break with that tradition -- partially, at least -- for its latest PlayStation gaming accessory, a set of wireless earbuds called the Pulse Explore.

The Pulse Explore are unmistakably PlayStation-themed, with a white, winged design that mimics the lines of the PlayStation 5 console, as well as its controller. But lurking beneath that gaming-inspired exterior is some very high-end audio tech. The Pulse Explore use planar magnetic drivers, which have traditionally been reserved for expensive, audiophile-grade headphones and wired earbuds due to their cost.

Montblanc’s first wireless earbuds get a little help from Axel Grell

Montblanc, the iconic maker of luxury writing instruments, is expanding its reach into the audio world with its first set of wireless earbuds. The MTB 03 are small and stylish, with active noise cancellation (ANC) and a design that incorporates the company's instantly recognizable glossy black finish and rounded star motifs. They're available starting July 1 at all Montblanc boutiques and Montblanc.com, for 345 British pounds (about $438).

The MTB 03 benefit from the expertise of Axel Grell, the man behind the development of many of Sennheiser's headphones and earbuds. Montblanc says that Grell was responsible for creating the MTB 03's sound signature. This is a consistent pattern for Montblanc, which partnered with Audeze’s founder, Alex Rosson when it began its audio journey with the MTB 01 wireless ANC headphones, which launched in 2020.
