Driving the sky-rocketing growth were price drops of at least 20% with some sizes dropping as much as 40% depending on manufacturing output. The report also shows that larger LCD TV’s are picking up momentum among consumers.
In China, LCD TV shipments grew 400% over the previous year while European LCD TV shipments grew the second fastest with a growth rate of up to 188% over the previous year. Here in the United States, we saw LCD TV growth increase by 102% over the previous year.

By size category, Sharp continued to lead at 10″-14″, 20″-21″, 25″-29″, 35″-39″ and 45″+ and overtook Sony at 30″-34″. Samsung overtook Philips at 15″-19″, Philips overtook Sony at 22″-24″ and Sony continued to lead at 40″-44″.
