It’s almost Halloween. That means the second dusk hits on October 31st, your favorite department store will tear down masks, costumes and candy bins in favor of Christmas lights, stuffed Santas and those ridiculously pungent holiday candles. Yup… in case you weren’t aware, you should probably already be Christmas shopping.
While we aren’t ready to launch into our holiday countdown or top gift lists just yet, budget-friendly TV maker Sceptre has released news about a new TV line that we’re betting is going to grab some serious holiday attention; so we decided to give you a little “heads up” in case you wanted to get the jump on the crowds.
Earlier today, Sceptre announced its new “24” series of TVs. Oddly enough, the line of slim LED backlit TVs has nothing to do with Jack Bauer, nor are they 24-inch TVs. They are, however, quite colorful, fairly well featured and, at 23-inch diagonal, appear to be a great option as a stylish dorm room or bedroom TV.
This version of the Sceptre’s 1080p LED 24 model keeps the last year’s color options of Gun Metal, Pink, Black, Pearl White, Red and Blue but adds on a USB port and another HDMI input (for a total of three), comes in a bit lighter at 7.65 lbs. (without stand) and sheds an inch of depth for a super slim 1.7-inch deep profile. Sceptre says the 5ms response time and 250 cd/m2 brightness make it a great option as both a computer monitor and TV, even in bright rooms.
Sceptre reports that Target will be carrying the E243-FHD models for a suggested retail of $230, but we have a feeling we’ll see them come down a little as the holidays get closer. Especially considering Sceptre’s older E240 model is going for $180 at another big box retailer that rhymes with stalwart.
