Yesterday, Vizio unveiled its 2013 HDTV collection, which includes notable additions meant to keep pace with a rapidly advancing industry. Here’s a quick look at the three featured series Vizio brought to the show.
M-Series Razor LED Smart TV w/Theater 3D
This model ranges from 50- to 80-inches and from an $850 price point all the way up to a $5,500 tag. The TVs sport a razor thin bezel, Smart TV capability, theater 3D, a 240Hz refresh rate, and Smooth Motion technology. The M-Series will be available for purchase later this year.
E-Series Razor LED Smart TV
This model ranges from 24 to 70 inches and from a $200 price point to a $2,000 tag. The TVs feature a 120Hz refresh rate, 4 HDMI inputs, and a barely-there bezel. Of the three models represented in the 2013 lineup, this is the only one that’s available now.
XVT-Series Ultra HD Razor LED Smart TV with Theater 3D
This model has three sizes, 55-, 65-, and 70-inches and all price points are currently unannounced. The TVs feature a 240Hz refresh rate, theater 3D, an ultra-slim bezel, and four times as many pixels as a standard, full HDTV. The XVT-Series will be available later this year.
There’s plenty to chew on here. For our money, it looks like the 60-inch E-Series Razor LED Smart TV ($1,000) might be the best buy of the bunch. If you’re a 3D devotee, however, the limbo-low $850 price tag on the 50-inch M-Series Razor LED Smart TV has to look enticing. The TBA price tag on the XVT-Series is interesting too. Vizio being a value brand, we wonder if they’ve got something up their sleeve that might allow them to bring 4K/Ultra HD down a peg from its prohibitive price point. If price is a major concern for you, consider that the M and E-Series can also be scaled down to omit 3D or Smart TV capability, if your looking for something more affordable.
