Do you purchase accessories to further enhance your consumer electronics enjoyment? If you do, you are part of the projected increase in revenue growth the Consumer Electronics Association is expecting to see for this year.
A new report out by the CEA looked at trends in buying patterns of consumers towards accessories for their home electronics. Based upon their analysis, it was determined that growth in this category should see an 11 percent jump by the end of the year, netting revenues of $8.3 billion. Retail sales meanwhile will see a total of $11 billion in this category.
CEA research determined that consumers are increasingly buying a consumer electronics device and then purchasing separate accessories as an upgrade to those originally provided. It was also determined that 19 percent of the purchases coming up over the next 12 months will be from budget shoppers while 42 percent falls into the big spender category.
“Accessories are vital to maximizing the performance of consumer electronics devices,” said CEA Research Director Joe Bates. “Whether a consumer is interested in improving device functionality or personalizing product appearance, the right accessory can offer the perfect compliment to substantially increase end-user satisfaction.”
