Promising to be “eco-friendly, healthy, and affordable,” the Knbor seeks to bring you to the light, in every sense of the word. As per the product’s Kickstarter page, the versatile brightness control of this smart lamp will allow you to make adjustments as needed to suit your lighting preferences. You can adjust the light’s color or pre-set mood modes, and even sync the light to music. And with a “powerful signal converter that is seamlessly integrated into the main board,” you’ll also be able to get (and stay) online by way of the signals radiating from your ceiling.
Knbor’s Power Line Communication (PLC) technology promises “zero loss, faster transmission speed, lower radiation, and low power consumption,” which means your light/Wi-Fi combination won’t drive up your power bill. Moreover, the smart lamp will keep tabs on the external environment and adjust its light provision as needed, so that it’s not competing with the sun (or leaving you in the dark).
Constructed with high-quality aluminum and featuring a 0.8 micron layer powder coating for a wear-resistant surface (the same coating technique used on smart phones and other electronics), the Knbor promises to be useful for a long, long time. In fact, it’s designed to last up to 50,000 hours, or 13 years.
70 backers have already pledged over $33,000 to the Knbor, and the smart light has surpassed its funding goal with 24 days left in its campaign. If you want to join in on the fun, the super early bird price of the Knbor stands at $99. Shipment is expected in June of next year.
