Optimus Keyboard Finally Materializes

Optimus Keyboard Finally Materializes

The keyboard that was initially greeted with skepticism, then Web-wide lust, then renewed skepticism, should finally be making its way off of drawing boards and under anxious geek fingers soon. The Optimus Maximus LCD keyboard has gone on sale in an unlimited production run.

While the first three limited edition runs have all been preordered and should be arriving shortly (in December and early January), those who didn’t have the cash to pony up for these early rounds are now able to preorder again, with the actual product set to arrive in late February 2008.

Unfortunately, the keyboards will still sell for $1574 USD, not the original sub-$500 and sub-$1,000 prices rumored back in the beginning of November. While those versions could still be on the way, for now, the elite will still have to break open their piggy banks to be the first on the block with an LCD keyboard.

The Samsung Galaxy Home Mini is finally set to be released
Galaxy Home Mini

The first mention of Samsung’s Galaxy Home smart speaker came all the way back in August 2018, but the device never made it onto store shelves. After multiple delays, you might finally be able to buy one for yourself - - maybe. The Samsung Galaxy Home Mini is slated to launch on February 12 in South Korea, a full two years after the initial announcement of Samsung’s entry into the smart speaker market.

Rumors have circulated about whether Samsung will launch the product in other markets. Samsung would be competing in a crowded market dominated by Amazon and Google here in the U.S., so it's poised to be an uphill battle right from the jump.  The concern is that Samsung’s dominance over the South Korean market makes the smart speaker a more attractive prospect there than it might be elsewhere.
