The Kindle Paperwhite just got a rare discount for Presidents’ Day

Rarely On Sale An Amazon Kindle Paperwhite 2024 on a table.

Amazon rolled out several Kindle deals for Presidents’ Day, including this gem: the ad-supported Amazon Kindle Paperwhite 2024 at 16% off, bringing it down to a more affordable $135 from the e-reader’s original price of $160. The $25 in savings may not look like much, but you still wouldn’t want to miss it because a discount for this device rarely happens. The offer will only be available for a limited time though, with stocks possibly running out even before the holiday arrives, so hurry with your purchase if you want to take advantage of this bargain.

Why you should buy the Amazon Kindle Paperwhite 2024

The Amazon Kindle Paperwhite 2024 received an impressive 4.5 stars out of 5 stars in our review, catapulting it to the top of our list of the best Kindles. The first thing that you’ll notice about the e-reader is its sharp and high-contrast e-ink screen that makes reading extremely comfortable to the eyes, especially since it also has glare-free properties. The 7-inch display also has adjustable warmth that you can customize depending on the time of day, and since the device is ultra-thin and waterproof, you can bring it with you wherever you go.

One of the best things about a Kindle for avid readers is the fact that it will make sure that you won’t get distracted by other apps and notifications. You can focus on the book that you’re reading on the Amazon Kindle Paperwhite 2024, and once you’re done with it, you can easily download your next one through the Kindle Store. You also have the option of signing up for a Kindle Unlimited subscription for access to an ever-growing catalog of books. You may also want to check out our guides on how to read EPUB books on a Kindle and how to share Kindle books with family and friends.

If this will be your first e-reader, or if you’re thinking about upgrading from an older model, you can’t go wrong with the Amazon Kindle Paperwhite 2024. It’s an even more attractive option right now because of Amazon’s 16% discount for Presidents’ Day, which lowers the price of the ad-supported model from $160 to $135. You won’t always get the chance to buy the Amazon Kindle Paperwhite 2024 at $25 off, and once this offer is gone, we’re not sure when you’ll get another crack at it, so buy the e-reader now to secure the savings.

The OnePlus 13 is coming on January 7 — along with a surprise
The OnePlus logo on the back of the OnePlus Open Apex Edition.

It's official: the OnePlus 13 will launch on January 7, 2025. Preempting the anticipated event by several weeks, OnePlus has officially confirmed the date we’ll see its next major smartphone release outside of China. Additionally, it has revealed some key features and news of a surprise new launch to go along with the phone.

OnePlus will release the OnePlus 13 in three different colors — Black Eclipse, Arctic Dawn, and Midnight Ocean. It’s the latter that is likely to be the model to have, as it is wrapped in a material called micro-fiber vegan leather, which is apparently corrosion and scratch-resistant but still luxurious to the touch. For the Arctic Dawn phone, the glass will have a special coating to give it a silky-smooth finish. It’s likely these are the same colors offered in China, where the phone has already been announced, just with different names.

I’m really worried about the future of smart glasses
The front of the Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses.

The Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses are among the most interesting, unexpectedly fun, and surprisingly useful wearables I’ve used in 2024. However, as we go into 2025, I’m getting worried about the smart glasses situation.

This isn’t the first time I’ve felt like we’re on the cusp of a new wave of cool smart eyewear products, only to be very disappointed by what came next.

We need to talk about this fantastic, industry-leading Motorola collab
A person holding the Motorola Edge 50 Neo.

We are accustomed to tech brands partnering with adjacent brands, whether it’s OnePlus with Hasselblad or Honor and Huawei with Porsche Design, and often — such as with Xiaomi and Leica — singing the praises of the resulting collaborations. But not enough has been said about Motorola’s now established partnership with color experts Pantone.

It was when the recently released Motorola Edge 50 Neo arrived for me to try out that I finally understood how impactful the collaboration has become. Why? It manages to make even ordinary colors look fantastic.
