New York may be the city that never sleeps, but as far as eating is concerned, we do that all the time. On-demand food services are all the rage in this buzzing metropolis, and now, Amazon Prime has gotten into the game, officially offering free delivery from over 350 restaurants across Manhattan by way of its Prime Now service. On Tuesday, the Internet retail giant continued its market-expanding strategy by introducing “free one-hour delivery from local restaurants,” with highlights including Blue Ribbon Fried Chicken, Junior’s Restaurant & Cheesecake, Momofuku Milk Bar, Sarabeth’s Tribeca, and many, many more.

In order to order, Prime customers simply have to log onto the Prime Now mobile app or the new Prime Now website. From here, hungry users will be able to see participating restaurants and their menus, place their orders, and track the status of their delivery in real time. “Amazon Prime members across Manhattan have already experienced the convenience of ultra-fast delivery through Prime Now,” said Gus Lopez, general manager, Amazon Restaurants. “And now, we are making it even better by adding free delivery from hundreds of local restaurants.”
While Prime Now is nothing new for the denizens of Manhattan (that service actually debuted way back in 2014), it’s taken quite a bit longer for city restaurants to jump into the mix. But now, Amazon Restaurants is live in 10 cities across America, with Dallas, Texas also joining the growing roster on Tuesday.
Previously, Amazon offered free delivery as a limited time offer, and it looks like that offer is now here to stay, so you’ll never have to pay to get your food sent straight to you. And better yet, Amazon promises, “If a customer finds a restaurant item that is priced higher than the regularly priced item on the restaurant’s current online menu within 24 hours of placing the order, Amazon will refund the customer the price of the item.”
So if you’re feeling hungry at some point today and don’t feel like taking a stroll, consider taking advantage of your Amazon Prime membership instead.
