Manufactured from strong, durable gel material, this iPhone 12 case from Olixar has a nonslip coating, keeping it in your hand. It’s slim, so easy to slip in your pocket, and has a raised bezel around the screen for added protection. But by far the best thing about this case is its compatibility with MagSafe chargers and accessories. There’s a built-in magnet on the back so MagSafe accessories like leather wallets, car mounts, and chargers snap securely onto the case. This case comes in a sleek deep blue color.

Phone cases for the iPhone 12 don’t come much prettier than this flip cover case from Ted Baker. It provides 360-degree protection for your new iPhone, keeping the screen safe from scratches and marks. The sleek, form-fitting black finish with a silver floral print looks great in your hand too — or you could opt for the rose gold floral or pink versions. This is definitely the case to go for if you’re looking for something that stands out from the crowd, while also keeping your phone safe.

Carved Adoree Case

This one-of-a-kind case from Carved comes in a range of different colors and styles, each made from colored resin and real wood burl. Handcrafted at Carved’s workshop in Indiana, the cases are inspired by how beautiful the earth looks from the perspective of a satellite — pretty cool indeed. We love this iridescent green resin and light wood burl version, but there are loads of different colors to choose from. The slim design and protective rubber outer shell keep your phone safe from whatever life throws at it, and this case is also compatible with Apple’s MagSafe accessories and chargers. You may find the charger doesn’t stick as strongly to this case as the official Apple case, since there’s no magnet in this one.

Incipio Organicore Case

Also available for the iPhone 12 Pro, Incipio’s Organicore case is the case of choice for the eco-conscious consumer. Formulated from a 100% compostable plant-based material that will break down completely in a compostable environment, this case also boasts Impact Strut Technology for up to eight feet of drop protection. A raised bezel around the screen protects it from scratches, and this case works with wireless charging and MagSafe chargers. We love the Eucalyptus shade, a fresh spring green, but you can pick it up in speckled natural beige or charcoal too. As if these reasons weren’t incentive enough, Incipio promises to plant a tree for every case sold, making this a truly planet-friendly choice.

Gear4 Rio Snap Case

If you’re looking for a sleek, slim case that works with MagSafe accessories, this one from Gear4 is our pick of the bunch. It’s lightweight and has a soft-touch finish that feels pretty good in your hand, and it’s constructed using recycled plastics, so you can feel virtuous about your purchase too. The case is treated with RepelFlex antimicrobial coating, which limits the growth of odor-causing bacteria, keeping your case smelling fresh, and also guards against microorganisms that can degrade your case over time. Round this out with drop protection of up to 13 feet, a limited lifetime warranty, and the MagSafe compatible magnets, which allow your favorite MagSafe accessories and chargers to snap into place, and you’ve got one of the best cases on the market right here.

Ghostek Covert Clear Case

Ghostek makes some of the most stylishly modern phone cases on the market, and their iPhone 12 Covert Clear case is the latest example. Its transparent coloring and red trim look striking, while it comes with a number of features that provide near-maximum durability. This includes advanced shockproof technology, a hard scratch-proof back, raised shock-absorbing corners, and also raised bezels for camera and screen protection. It has received military-grade drop testing, with Ghostek stating that remains unscathed from 8-foot falls. Aside from its durability, it also boasts non-slip hand grips, a built-in adjustable kickstand, and wireless-charging support. A very good case.

Tech21 Eco Art Case

You’re spoiled for choice when it comes to good iPhone 12 cases manufactured by Tech21, but we’ve decided to opt for this very attractive Eco Art case. Designed by independent artists in partnership with Tech21, this case has been made with 100% biodegradable materials, and comes in four varyingly rich color schemes. Even though it looks very pretty, it’s still very rugged, giving your iPhone 12 drop protection of up to three meters (10 feet). It also includes raises edges around the camera module, and is MagSafe compatible.

Mujjo Full Leather Wallet Case

It may be the priciest item on this list, but Mujjo’s Full Leather Wallet Case is arguably also the most attractive. It’s a wallet case, but unlike some wallet cases, it’s made with full-grain vegetable-tanned leather (as opposed to faux leather). It really does look high-quality, while Mujjo claims that its tan coloring will improve with age, developing a beautiful patina and gaining character with every scuff and scratch. It’s not a typical wallet case in the sense of having a front cover that opens and closes, but it includes a slot on the back for a small number of cards.

Speck Presidio2 Grip Case

Speck’s Presidio2 Grip Case combines pretty much every feature you’d want a case to have. It’s highly durable, using Speck’s “Armor Cloud” technology to provide 13-foot drop protection, which is possible thanks in part to the tiny air capsules included just under the case’s surface. If that wasn’t enough, the no-slip grip means you’ll find it very difficult to accidentally drop the iPhone 12 while pulling it out of your pocket or walking down the street with it. Despite this level of protection, the material is comfortably soft to the touch, while its added anti-microbial protection will keep most bacteria (but not viruses) at bay.

Totallee Super Thin Case

Here’s an iPhone 12 case that combines minimalist good looks with maximal functionality and comfort. It’s made of very thin matte plastic that gives the phone a thickness of 0.31 inches, compared to 0.29 inches without a case. This makes it very comfortable to hold as well as very easy to put in your pocket or bag, while the matte plastic combines flexibility with enough hardness to protect against most everyday accidents. It comes in a choice of white, black, navy blue, and green, with each color providing a subtle richness of tone that complements the iPhone’s style rather than detracts from it. It’s also available in a completely transparent color made of clear plastic.

Ringke Fusion No-Smudge Case

Here’s a very comfortable and functional case that offers a high level of protection without breaking the bank. Ringke’s case is made from PC with an anti-fingerprint matte finish that prevents fingerprint smudges and oily stains, ensuring that your phone continues to look great no matter how long you use it. It has been cut finely to provide a perfect fit around the phone, with snug cutouts for the camera module, ports, and buttons. It also includes QuikCatch lanyard holes, so that you can attach compatible straps to keep your phone tied to your belt buckle or other restraints.

Mous Limitless 3.0 Case

It may be slim-fitting and sleek, but Mous’ Limitless 3.0 iPhone 12 case is possibly the sturdiest cover on this list. It has been designed using Mous’ own impact-absorbing AiroShock technology, which provides probably the fullest possible protection you can get from a case of its dimensions. Mous also sells it in a variety of durable materials, from walnut and bamboo to black leather and aramid fiber. It includes raised edges to protect the iPhone 12’s screen, while its cutouts and buttons retain the full functionality of the phone. One other nice feature is that it’s compatible with a range of magnetic accessories, such as a handy dashboard mount that’s useful for anyone who uses their phone as a GPS while driving.

Otterbox Pro Commuter Series Case

The Pro Commuter Series case by Otterbox might be simple to look at, but it’s one of the best cases for keeping your iPhone 12 safe. Its elevated edges protect the camera lens and phone screen. The durable double layer exterior’s tough outer shell is MIL-STD-810G 516.6 military standard tested, offering incredible protection against drops. The plastic part of the case securely grips your phone’s body while providing easy access to the covers that keep your phone ports from attracting dirt. The case also boasts an everlasting anti-microbial layer that keeps common bacteria from growing. You can also use this case with wireless charging, and it comes with a limited lifetime manufacturer warranty.

Spigen Slim Armor Wallet Case

The Spigen brand is well known for providing excellent iPhone 12 cases. We especially love this one, which features a unique design. This armored case doubles as a wallet, thanks to its convenient sliding section for cash and cards. Its double-layered construction features Air Cushion Technology by Spigen. It’s very protective and effective against drops without adding the bulkiness normally associated with armored cases. You can leave the case on whether you’re using wired or wireless charging, and it won’t prevent other devices from charging when you use it as a reverse charger. Be sure to remove any credit cards you have stored in the wallet section before you charge or use it as a charger.

UAG Lucent Series Case

The sleek and light Lucent Series case from UAG might not look the part, but it ranked highly in testing in terms of shock prevention. This case can withstand many different accident and impact scenarios at a military drop-test measure of MIL-STD 810G 516.6. This sturdy case also happens to be aesthetically pleasing, with its dot pattern that remains discreet and subtle. It fits like a glove with all the buttons, modules, and ports on the iPhone 12 and works well with wireless charging.

Following the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC 2024) keynote, developers are starting to dig into the first iOS 18 developer beta. Though this beta lacks Apple Intelligence and many of the other features demoed on Monday, it offers a surprising new take on an old iOS feature: the flashlight.

The built-in flashlight feature has been available on the iPhone since iOS 7, which was released in 2013. It hasn't changed much at all since then, which makes sense, given its basic function. Interestingly, it has received a significant update in iOS 18.
