Windows Phone might not be the most popular mobile operating system out there, as highlighted by the relatively slow app updates, but it has its fair share of users. For those in the Windows Phone camp, or those who are just looking for an affordable smartphone, you might want to take a look at the Blu Win HD LTE.

Now available through the Microsoft Store, the Blu Win HD LTE is the successor to last year’s Blu Win HD. The main differences between the two handsets are the new one’s 4G LTE capabilities and Snapdragon 410 processor. By comparison, the original Blu Win HD connects to HSPA+ and is powered by a Snapdragon 200 processor. Even though both handsets’ processors are backed up by 1GB of RAM, that should still be a pretty big upgrade in terms of power.

Otherwise, the Win HD LTE packs the same 5-inch, 1,280 x 720 pixel screen as its predecessor, as well as a 2-megapixel selfie camera and an 8-megapixel rear shooter. It only comes with 8GB of internal storage, but it’s expandable by up to 32GB through the MicroSD card slot. In case you’re someone who uses two SIM cards, the Win HD LTE also has dual SIM card slots.

More interesting, however, is the promised upgrade to Windows 10, slated to land later this year. The upgrade option makes the Win HD LTE one of the few non-Nokia Windows Phone smartphones to be promised the Windows 10 update. So far, Windows 10 for mobile devices has been pretty popular with users of the Technical Preview. The Win HD LTE is currently available in gray and yellow for $200, unlocked. White and orange variants will be available sometime soon.
