Ordering pizza is one process you shouldn’t have to think too much about. It should be simple — pick a size and topping, and your sizzling pie should be on its way.
Now Domino’s is simplifying that process with Zero Click — all you need to do is open the app and your order will be placed. That’s it.
It’s just another way the pizza chain is allowing you to order its food. Recently, it opened up orders to Alexa, Amazon’s digital assistant, in the Echo connected speaker. And in addition to Zero Click and Amazon Echo, Domino’s has numerous other ways to order a pie, ranging from Twitter and Android Wear to a smart TV.
It’s all a part of Domino’s AnyWare platform, as the company is continually looking for new ways to help you order a pizza pie.
When you open the Zero Click app, there’s a 10-second timer that initiates a countdown, just to make sure you didn’t open the app by accident. Once the timer hits zero, your order is placed and you’ll see an order confirmation.
Of course, as with all its various ordering initiatives, you’ll have to create a Domino’s account first and build a “Pizza Profile.” How else will the company know what type of pizza to send you?
You can create your favorite order, and then you’ll have to fill out your address, phone number, and credit card information.
This data is tied to all of Domino’s “Easy Order” methods, so say if you choose to tweet, “#EasyOrder” or the pizza emoji to @Dominos, the company will look at the delicious pie you’ve set as your default in your Pizza Profile and will begin making it.
Creating new ways to order its food isn’t the only initiative the company is pushing — recently Domino’s unveiled a self-driving pizza delivery robot, the Domino’s Robotic Unit, that can store pizza and drinks (in hot and cool locations), and can also accept payments and chat with customers.
Currently, the AnyWare platform lets you order pizza via a Ford Sync, Twitter, Android Wear and Pebble, Text, and Samsung’s Smart TV. The new Zero Click app is now available on iOS and Android, but you can still order pizza via Domino’s native app as well.
