iTunes Mobile 1.0 Slated for June

“Apple is currently on track to finish up the first version of its iTunes software for mobile phones by June, sources have told Think Secret. The software, which is currently named iTunes Mobile 1.0, has been in development since last year, when Apple and Motorola announced a joint partnership to develop an iTunes-compatible phone.

The Motorola phone is scheduled for release in the second-half of the year, Motorola and Apple executives have both said, but the companies have reportedly faced difficulties finding service providers who will carry the device. ”

We posted a news story yesterday saying that Verizon and Sprint have no plans to carry the new iTunes phones. Verizon, Cingular and Sprint have plans to introduce their own music download services later this year.

The race to make the fastest-charging smartphone continues. In the wake of Realme’s announcement of a 240W wired charging system, Infinix has announced its 260W All-Round FastCharge system, which promises to charge a smartphone battery from zero to 25% in a single minute, and on to 100% in seven minutes and 30 seconds.

What’s more, it has a fancy new wireless charging system to go along with it, called the 110W Wireless All-Round FastCharge, and it’ll pump enough power into a phone battery to reach 100% in just 16 minutes. For reference, the OnePlus 11’s 100W wired fast charging takes the cell to 100% in about 25 minutes, and even Xiaomi’s 120W charger with the Xiaomi 13 Pro takes about 20 minutes to reach the maximum.

iOS 16.3.1 fixes major bugs for your iPhone — and introduces a new one

Apple just released a new iOS update for your iPhone: iOS 16.3.1. There are also updates for iPadOS 16.3.1 and macOS 13.2.1. All of these are relatively minor updates, but they do patch up an actively exploited code execution vulnerability that was found in WebKit/Safari. A second vulnerability was also patched up, though this second one was not known to be actively exploited.

But that’s not all that iOS 16.3.1 brings. This update also fixes an issue with iCloud settings, where it became unresponsive. Another bug fix corrects an issue with using Siri with the Find My feature, where the request would end up failing. If you have a HomePod, there is a HomePod 16.3.2 OS update that will also resolve some Siri issues, where smart home requests would end up failing.
