ESPN’s mobile service yesterday announced their content delivery plans for the upcoming 2006 professional baseball season. Mobile ESPN wireless network voice and data servides are provided on the nationwide Sprint PCS Network, with Mobile ESPN itself a stand-alone wireless carrier offering products directly to consumers.
Mobile EPSN’s 2006 MLB coverage, said the wireless carrier, will provide a wide array of content for both real and fantasy play. Features will include scoreboards with game status information and real-time scores for all games, a “gamecast†with game stats, box scores and play-by-play, in-game video highlight clips from each game ESPN broadcasts, personalized content for favorite teams and players including video highlights and alerts, ESPN.com fantasy team management and exclusive Mobile ESPN content from ESPN MLB hosts and analysts.
“If you’re a baseball fan on the go, there’s no better place than Mobile ESPN to get all the real-time information you crave,” said Manish Jha, senior vice president and general manager, Mobile ESPN, in a statement. “We have created a richer and easier to use content offering for this baseball season than has ever been delivered to mobile phones before.”
