Motorola won Google’s favor with the Nexus 6, but that doesn’t mean the smartphone maker doesn’t have its own plans for a phablet. A new report hints that Motorola may have a Droid-branded version of the Nexus 6 in the works for 2015.

The Droid version will most likely sport many of the same specs as the original Nexus 6, but DroidForums says it’ll have the next-generation Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor under the hood instead of the 805. Motorola’s Droid phablet may also pack 4GB of RAM to support the 64-bit processor. A 4,000mAh battery is also rumored.

Otherwise, the new Droid will have the same 5.9-inch Quad HD screen with a resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels. It’s unclear whether the cameras will receive an upgrade or remain the same. The phablet will probably run Android 5.0 Lollipop, but the operating system hasn’t been confirmed. The report didn’t mention deign either, so it’s impossible to know of the Droid version will look different than the Nexus 6. However, it seems likely that a slight design change will be used to differentiate the two devices.

As with most Droid devices, including the Droid Turbo, which is essentially a rebranded Moto X with faster charging, this Droid phablet could also be a Verizon exclusive. In contrast, the Google Nexus 6 is available at all four major U.S. carriers. Motorola should unveil the phablet in mid-2015 with Verizon as its carrier. In the meantime, we’ll keep you updated on Motorola’s plans for its first Droid phablet.

The Nokia 3210 is the worst phone I’ve used in 2024
A person holding the Nokia 3210, showing the screen.

Where do I even start with the Nokia 3210? Not the original, which was one of the coolest phones to own back in a time when Star Wars: Episode 1 -- The Phantom Menace wasn’t even a thing, but the latest 2024 reissue that has come along to save us all from digital overload, the horror of social media, and the endless distraction that is the modern smartphone.

Except behind this facade of marketing-friendly do-goodery hides a weapon of torture, a device so foul that I’d rather sit through multiple showings of Jar Jar Binks and the gang hopelessly trying to bring back the magic of A New Hope than use it.
The Nokia 3210 really is that bad
