Samsung’s Galaxy Note 3 Neo has finally been unveiled – in Poland.

Much of the recent leaked information pertaining to the new phablet, which was revealed on Samsung’s Polish site Friday, has turned out to be bang on the money, so there won’t be too many surprises for those who’ve been following the story.

Cutting straight to it, the Note 3 Neo comes in two variations – 3G and LTE+. While for the most part offering the same specifications, the former offers a 1.6GHz quad-core processor while the latter packs a heftier punch with a hexa-core processor comprising two 1.7GHz Cortex-A15 cores and four 1.3GHz Cortex-A7 cores.

The latest addition to Samsung’s mobile line-up is essentially a ‘lite’ version of the Galaxy Note 3 which launched last fall. The new Neo runs on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean and sports a 5.5-inch 720p OLED display, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of storage – expandable to 64GB with microSD card – and a 3,100mAh battery. Camera-wise we have an 8-megapixel rear shooter and a 2-megapixel one on the front.

The device, available in black, white, and green, is slim enough at 0.34 inches (8.6mm), though a touch thicker than the Note 3’s 0.3-inch (8.3mm) profile, and tips the scales at 0.36 pounds (162.5g), making it a little lighter than the Note 3 which weighs in at 0.37 pounds (168g).

As expected, the faux-leather rear panel has also been included for those who like that kind of thing, as has Samsung’s S Pen stylus, a feature that could prove decisive for some phablet-hunting consumers.

We’re still waiting for details on pricing, though with specs a step down from the high-end 5.7-inch Note 3 phablet, we at least know it’ll be priced south of that.

Although it’s only showing on Samsung’s Polish site at the minute, the handset is expected to hit stores around the world next month, though recent reports suggest there are currently no plans for a US or UK launch. In which case, there’s always the Note 3.
